I was thinking about throwing my cats' used kitty liter into the compost pile, but read somewhere that it makes for horrible compost. So do i continue throwing it out? Or is there some other garden use for it? Will it perhaps kill weeds?

I heard that if you put a saucer full of beer inside an ice cream container (with a hole in the side so they can get in) in the garden, that they drink the beer, get drunk and die? I am wanting to try, but curious if anyone else has actually had success with it?

I've looked at several online lists for packing to go to a college dorm. But I don't know how how those compare with moving to an apartment. Are the same items essential (except for the study materials which are not needed) or would a person need something different entirely?

I want to cover my garage floor. What's the best product to use. I dont want to pay out the nose, but I do want it to look good and last. Both of my cars are in good shape meaning there's no oil leaks. Not at this time anyways.

How do I start my own landscaping business? There are a few landscapers in the area that cater primarily to residential customers. In contrast, I want to focus more on commercial and larger projects. How would I get started? Do I need special training? I have a pretty good business background, and a few commercial "contacts." Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Over the weekend, I went to a Winery that was giving away Canna Lilly bulbs. I got 3 or 4 but don't know what to do from here. I'm not a plant person but I love the way these flowers look so I had to have them. I'd like to buy a big pot to plant them in but not sure if they'd be better in the ground, if so I can just plant them in my backyard. How do I get started? Its been a few days so I'm not even sure if still good.

Based on the terrible performance of front loading clothes washers at laundromats, it would be hard to convince me to buy one for use at home. Is there a significant difference in performance and features with the front loading washers they sell for use at home (non-commerical)?

but I have no idea what kind of price to go by. They are split level
and are made to sit in line with each other, but the bottom bunk can be moved around to go where ever. They were re-stained and varnished about 15 years ago, and have a large toy/storage box under the top bunk. Don't know what kind of wood they're made from, but it's pretty soft, and a light colour. I think they are considered antique. I am in Australia, anyone got any idea?

I have one of those kits called dutch boy to solder a few copper plumbing pipes together. About how long does it usually take for the copper pipe to be hot enough to meld the solder upon contact? I held a light blue flame right up against that fricken copper pipe for 4 minutes and the solder still did not react to it. Not until I hit it directly with the flame, then it just ran down the outside of the pipe.

Also, how do you know when a pipe is fully solder or not? If it leaks?

I have taken the handle off, and made sure the base is as tight as it can get, but when I turn the water back on, it still drips. (this is the hot water side.) Any ideas short of replacing the faucet will help.

My fiance and I are getting married in a historic stone gazebo, which is located in a city park. This gazebo is huge, meaning I can easily put at least 100 chairs in it & have room for the actual ceremony. I'm stuck on the decoration part because I'm not an artistic person. So far, I have two 21" ivy & twine topiary trees, which will have white lights, and there will be one on each side of us. I also have hanging ivy planters, and the ivy hangs about 17". Plus my runner & red rose petals. After that, I'm stuck. I don't want to take away from the fact that it is a stone gazebo, and a historic one at that. I don't want a bunch of tulle all over the place, etc. I want to keep it simple, but not go for the "garden" look. The bouquets are red & white roses with ivy for the greens. I'm open to suggestions! :)
