HI I brought a cane picnic basket from the local charity shop and I wanted to know how the best way to clean it would be, it is not overly dirty but there is small amount of dust in the weave and has a lack lustre look too it. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

mild soapy water and a semi-soft brush. Don't soak it for very long as the weave might start to come undone. Let it dry completely afterwards. If you want to bring back the basket's shine you might want to try linseed oil in a small, inconspicuous spot. use a rag to apply it. If it looks much better, you could do it all over. that would help protect the material and bring back some color.

I use hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle for everything. It's non toxic and so effective, dentists use it to clean utensils. I use it to clean the baby tray and toys. To prevent stains, use a random leather shoe proctectant. It creates a waterproof barrier and makes natrual material easier to clean.
