I am replacing several pieces of galvanized water pipes leading to my house. Several people have told me to use teflon tape and pipe dope on the threads while others have said only pipe dope. The pipe dope I am using has a teflon lubricant. I noticed on one fitting where I tried using both, then had to take it back apart, that with the dope on it, the tape wouldn't hold its position like it does by itself. Instead, the pipe just seems to push the tape up as it is screwed on. That makes me lean more towards the dope by itself. Also, the directions on the bottle say to apply the dope to the bare threads. What should I do?

An inkpen leaked on the diningroom table and now there is a big stain on it. Nothing too abrasive can be used because of the finish. Clorox wipes have been tried already. Any other ideas?

Some girl named Yasi asked this question and the answers were not so good. Some waxes burn into nothing. Maybe it is bees wax that burns into nothing and crayon or colored waxes that don't. ~~Keep pouring off the wax (be carefull its hot). When the candle creates a pronounced crater, use an old steak Knife to cut off the top edge of the candle slowly and carefully. The top edge needs to be warm & soft enough to cut. Keep pouring off the wax and cutting off the warm soft top edge until the candle is almost gone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Tea Light candles come in a little metal holder and last 4 hours with plenty of light.

I am changing my energy supplier for the first time. I've got lots of quotes online. I only use electricity, we don't have a gas in my building. I'd like to know...:
-What motivated you to choose your energy provider (eg. loyalty card points/ capped prices/ green energy etc)?
-Who do you think represents best value for money?

Thanks!

I'm looking into getting a two piece suite, a sofa bed and another sofa and have come across SofaSofa (http://www.sofasofa.co.uk) who do what sounds like good deals. Has anyone used them? Is the quality of the sofa's ok? I live near London so going to their shop in Cardiff is a bit of a way to go. Any other places that are worth looking at would be appreciated too, thanks.

I have been offered two cleaning jobs once a week from two different family members. Since this is a new type of work I am starting, I do not know what to charge them. It would included, but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, picking up, mopping the floors, cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom. One family member is not as neat as the other and will take more time. He also has a bath and 1/2. The latter one I was just speaking of has offered me $40/week and asked if that was enough. The other has not mentioned a price. What is the average amount paid for housecleaning?

I seriously HATE spiders and lately I seem to have quite a few in the house. One particularly huge black one ran across the lounge and gave me a screaming blue fit the other day and I don't want to see another like it inside!!! What can I do seriously to prevent these.

I keep the place clean, the windows have no cracks, the downstairs floors are concrete. Carpets are fitted throughout.

Do those plug-in spider repellant things work?

And please don't tell me arachnids are everywhere etc etc - I know all this, I have the hebee-jebees enough thankyou!!!!
