I am pregnant and got "sick" in my bedroom a few nights ago. My husband and I used a steam cleaner that we got from my in-laws after we got up the bulk. The steam cleaner had a bunch of leaks and despite the fact that we kept our windows open (brrr) and put a small fan directly on the spot, the extremely thick remained wet for days. I had it professionally cleaned yesterday, but once it dried it smelled worse! Please help!!!

I am thinking about painting my sons bedroom hardwood floor. Has anyone done this? What type of paint did you use, also what type of sealer should I use as this room has heavy foot traffic and desk chair that will be moved frequently. Any help or info appreciated.

After a messy seperation I moved into a rental and bought the biggest box air con on the market (not being told that it had a 20amp plug on it, easy prey!) Got the go ahead to install a p/point, was then told I need a circuit breaker and the power board needs to be rewired etc etc, costing about $4-5000. Landlords have done nothing and don't plan to in the near future. I have no ceiling fans (Townsville - very hot and humid) would love to hear any suggestions on what i can do.

Could there be some electrical wiring in contact with the piping? I thought it was just me, but wife and kids are also noticing the same thing. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I have quite a large and unruley hedge in the front garden, it is my mission for the summer to "tame" the hedge.

I would like to reduce it in size and improve the shape...

...so my question is when would be the best time (of year) to start cutting it?

I have a lot of fine furniture. Not a lot of $$. I need a lot of work done on my house to put it up for sale. I am older, single female. Should I spend my money on hiring people to fix my house or barter the furniture? Will it be too $$$$$$ to replace it up there? Same with china, books, artwork etc.
You can see the furniture style at craigslist's san antonio site

I'm not too worried about price, b/c you can always find a deal....I also believe in buying the right product the first time so I don't sink $$ into replacing it more frequently.
That being said, which brand of garage door opener is best: Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, Genie? And which type: belt, screw, chain? Thanks for your help.

I live in a rental apartment, on the ground floor, and I have a small kitchen, and the stove is against an inside wall facing the living room. The refrigerator is next to it (don't know if that makes a difference) and there are small cabinets above both the stove and the fridge. The stove has an air vent thing above it, and that duct goes into the cabinet above before dissapearing into the wall I am guessing. I use the cabinet above the stove to store nonperishable food items, and every time I reach in there to take something out, I get a blast of cold air. The only time it's warm in there is when I've been cooking and using the air vent thing. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there anything I can do about this that doesn't involve my landlord, and is relatively cheap? Thanks.

If so, what tool would I use (circular saw, reciprocating saw) and what type of blade?

Alternatively, can I take a sledgehammer to it and break it into smaller pieces? WIll it break or just bend?

I live in western long island in a 2bedroom, 5th floor apartment,we use a washer/dryer and dishwasher once a day.we have 3 heaters for three seperate rooms which on an average is on about 4 hours a day on auto.we live in a brick building and really cant insulate the windows too much as we dont own the apartment.i would like to know what do you think is the avg electric bill ,since in the winter my electric bill has almost doubled and I want to know what people generally pay in the winter months,if mine is too high(I pay 450 to 500!!!!!...this is my first time in this state,i used to live in a warmer place ) when compared to the avg then I will need to talk to the electric company ,if not then I will learn to consume less, any input is appreciated.
