The house has 2 rooms and living room and a restroom the kitchen does not have carpet

the cost really depends on the number of rooms and/or how big those rooms are. I got my whole house done last year for about $450 (4 rooms, hallway and stairs)

I get "Free one room cleaning" coupons all the time. Wait for one of those. Even keep in mind sometime carpet cleaning will make your carpets more blackish because of the underlying dust. Also it should not be very difficult to do it yourself...I see these rental carpet cleaning equipment even in most grocery stores like Albertsons etc.

Depends on the size of the house and the square footage of carpet to clean.
Go to Stanley Steemer and get their prices, they are the most expensive at carpet cleaning or any cleaning.

Do it yourself, save a bunch of money! Takes one Saturday to do your house if its small!
Rent at the supermarket!!
Other wise it depends on who you use, what they use to clean the carpets and how big is your house?
