I recently purchased a new condominium unit during the pre-selling or construction stage. I received a notice that the developer is ready to turnover the unit to me. During the turnover, what should I check about the unit before I accept the unit? I was thinking: check floor area, number of rooms. Any other suggestions?

I'm right smack dab in the middle of a very important project, and all of a sudden...the thread tension has gone all haywire? It appears that the top thread tension is too tight, and the lower (bobbin) thread tension is too loose. I've tried adjusting the tension of the top thread...I've cleaned the machine well. I checked everything tha the manual suggests...no luck. Any insight? I've got to have this project finished by tomorrow!!!

I have a very old place, from 1885. I've removed some of the old plaster walls to do exposed brick. At the top of one wall for some reason they tarred the brick before plastering it. I have no idea why. I am finding it very difficult though to get this tar off! Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any solvents that might help?

We live in an old building and after years of tenants, the paint has built up around the bedroom doors and bathroom medicine cabinet. The doors do not close! I think that either the door frames or the edges have too much paint on them. Sometimes they will close but they stick. What is the best way to remove the extra paint? Can I do it without taking the door off? Will it take me a long time? Thanks!!
