Pink goes VERY well with green. Depending on tastes, it can range from leafy forest green to a softer mint (I prefer the distinct contrast of darker greens myself). It's probably best to border magnetic wall areas for younger kids. A nice decorative moulding from the hardware store can make an elegant edging for a low price. The only skill it takes is being able to measure a line and cut a forty five degree angle.

My five year old insisted on pink for her bedroom (I begged for any other color...), and I've found that with some green and with princess style brass or gold hardware (we went with cinderalla type gold accents), it doesn't have that "Pepto bismol" look that some pink rooms end up with.

Another good accent is cream, for window boxes and furniture. Oh, and I found this great product from the hobby store... it's a pearl finish that you can dilute with water and use just like paint (or leave full strength). Great for making butterflies shine. If you really want to get creative, you can paint areas of the butterflies with gold leaf adhesive, and then press the gold leaf over. Rub off the extra, and you've got fairy tale accents. (personally, I prefer the plastic backed gold leaf that doesn't require clean up, but it can be hard to find)

Best of luck.

Lilac goes lovely with pink, or any other pastel for that matter.
And a lovely shade of rose pink.
Also, I'm pretty sure the child will figure out where the magnets will or won't stick, It's a good learning tool as well.

My suggestion is light blue, white, light green or lighter orange color could be the possible match for the pink. Baby pink color appears like pink bubble gum.

I am sorry that I could not give suggestion to Question #2 in regards magnetic paint because I don't know what they meant. Thank you.
