I'm right smack dab in the middle of a very important project, and all of a sudden...the thread tension has gone all haywire? It appears that the top thread tension is too tight, and the lower (bobbin) thread tension is too loose. I've tried adjusting the tension of the top thread...I've cleaned the machine well. I checked everything tha the manual suggests...no luck. Any insight? I've got to have this project finished by tomorrow!!!

Check your thread path on the top thread - carefully. You may have the thread in incorrectly. The bobbin tension is not easy to change, so I doubt it's an adjustment issue. Check the bobbin case for a loose piece of thread jammed inside or around. These are not always easy to see, so you may have to search with a bright lite and a small pin or pick. Look to where the bobbin housing and the bobbin case turn against each other. Turn the machine by hand slowly and keep looking. Any stray thread inside there can cause the problem - I've had it happen many times on several different machines. Of course, once you find the problem, you'll have to back off the tension on the needle and then readjust. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Make sure your bobbin thread hasn't flopped out of the metal case. Sometimes I find that it needs to be re-guided through the little slit.

Well first I hope that this is a typo? Since 240 months doesn't sound right, classical music would be my suggestion.
