I want to do my walls in the stucco look, then do a faux finish over it. Do I apply a smooth coat of texture, then a second coat and apply a trowel to it?

What are they and what can I do about them?

Today I dropped half the roller that the toilet paper hangs on. You know - you got the little posts that screw into the wall, and the roller that's made up of 2 halves with a spring in between. I guess all these things have names but heck if I know what they are. Anyway, I was holding one half as the toilet was flushing, and the other dropped down the toilet. I heard a "clink" which is I assume the roller half hitting the ceramic at the trap and - hopefully - lodging there.

So ... my question is whether something this size would fit through the trap. If so, then I guess my only option will be to take the toilet out because I don't want it to go through. If not, I am thinking it may be a lot easier to use the closet auger and try and pull it back. I guess it all hinges on whether I may accidentally push the roll through the trap or not.

Please ... help! Thanks.

We purchased a home and the owner apparently hadn't run the pool filter or pump (or treated the pool) since August. It also did not have a cover, so it is currently a dirty, filthy, algae infested mess. Quite frankly, I'm not even sure the filter and pump even work -- but I'm hesitant to turn them on and try them out -- because the pool is SO dirty (I don't want to draw all of that crud into the pump and filter unless I have to). Any suggestions? Do I need to call a pool place and have them drain and clean the pool? Or is this something I can take care of myself (after remodeling the entire house, our budget is really low at this point).

New at this, very bad this winter, lost asphalt tiles off roof, there was a "ambulence roofer" hitting alot of us the day after. He gave me a quote of $500, there's about 40 (?) missing. Plus, what about replacing tiles that match somewhat. He of course said, you might want to think about adding another layer on the entire roof $3400.

Is this a rip??

My 2 ½ year old dog has run a dirt path in my back yard along the fence line. He has killed all of the grass and monkey grass that grew there. It is now dirt and when it rains or we water he gets all muddy. What can I do or plant to circumvent this problem (without getting rid of the dog)? Thanks!

I used the term "flip" 'cause I can't think of any other way to say it. I rent my home but I want to make some changes to it. Nothing to drastic like ripping out walls or cupboards. But I want to change the feel of my home. You walk into and feel akward. I've tried new certains and pictures and little stuff like that. I've even bought new sofa's and nothing worked. I want to get that homey feeling when I walk in. I want people to feel compfortable when they visit. But I don't want them to feel like they can't touch anything. Any idea's on how to accomplish this without breaking the bank???

Ok, so like, I figure you have to let the bank know, change your voter registration, organ donor info, drivers license, what else?

Do you have to tell the post office or something?

This is a new noise this year and when it starts it sounds like someones kicking the funace, does anyone know what that could be, and is it normal, I might have to break down and have someone look at it but for some reason furnace men remind me of automechanics, you know what I mean, $$$$$$.

HELP please.....
I just recently moved back on my own and I have a nice size 1bedroom house that I rent . I can do pretty much what I want to in it as long as I don't destroy it. I live on 623.00 a month & 505.00 goes to bills ect. so there is not a lot of extra money for extras to decorate.
I am usually crafty & creative, but I really want something different that is fun & funky.
I DO NOT want the "norm' but not to extreme. It's my home & I would like to have a place that picks up my spirits not depress me.

Im gonna be moving in a couple of weeks. I will be renting a truck big enough to haul everything. My question is how should we load it up.....big stuff and furniture first or small stuff? does it really make it difference?

No fiberglass insulation! I don't want it in my new house. What are my optiontions, if any, from nature or natural materials? I prefer no additives or toxic chemicals. I prefer something with a natural insect repelant(s) in it (for ants, termites and spiders).
