Im gonna be moving in a couple of weeks. I will be renting a truck big enough to haul everything. My question is how should we load it up.....big stuff and furniture first or small stuff? does it really make it difference?

I've moved about 15 times in as many years. I'm becoming a pro at it. Stack as many boxes as possible against the cab wall all the way inside the truck. Then start on big stuff. You want to have a plan to get stuff out of the way, so you aren't bum[ping into furniture and stuff as you work. Clear a wide path to the door you are taking stuff out of. Load the truck so the furniture for the farthest room, from the entrance gets unloaded first. and the room closest to the entrance gets filled last.
Make sure all the boxes are labeled for which room they go in. Anything you have to take apart, keep the hardware in in zip-loc bag. Tape the bag onto one of the parts.
Don't forge the beer, sodas and munchies for the helpers.

i tend to load ever ything i can handle in first , the n the heavy stuff next but load your truck so that the weight is balanced even on the floor , i also way put the washer and dry toward the front , and the sofa next to it ,label every thing for each room so your buddys dont need to ask where this going?
and stay calm moveing is the nearest thing to diorce,
it ranks # three o nthe list , it can be fun if you get all you packen done and listed before hand

you have to be able to take the big things first in new house so pack in van last. you dont want to be carrying the cooker etc and stepping over bags and boxes. makes a huge difference. try getting wardrobe through the hall say and theres boxes everywhere .

If you are using uniform boxes - get them on first so you can best utilize space... but if you're like me - all the boxes are all kinds of sizes... so get the big stuff on - and fill empty spaces (under tables, between chairs, etc.) with smaller items. Overpack any glass items. And pace yourself.
Good luck! Peace. --De

I would put all of the big stuff in first, then pack all the little stuff behind it. Its much easier this way. Judgeing by experience.
