If you are looking for a commercial mower, don't bother with anything you can get from a mass merchant (big box store). If something goes wrong, will they fix it on location, or have to ship it to a service center?

If I had a choice of brands, it would be either a Snapper or a Toro. Both companies are good names, and you can find them anywhere in the country.

As far as engines, Honda has a great name, but I question their thinking on the production of a cheep line so they could put their engines in Wal-Mart. Ten years ago Briggs was on a downward slump, but in the past 5 years they have stepped up and made improvements. Another thing to consider is you can find Briggs parts almost anywhere.

We use Honda mower's,In my opinion honda is number
Be it mowers,Boat motors,Car's,You can't beat a HONDA,
But briggs is a very good engine, Toro mower's are alright also, just rember they are used more than a regular mower a home owner would use, change oil more often and keep the underside of the deck clean and the blade sharp,They won't have to work as hard
Good Luck
