Sweet Patatoes from the store are chemically and genetically un balanced so when you sprout them in less you dump loads of chemicals and pesticdes it will never grow as good as the first who enhanced it. I've tried sprouting the ones at the grocery. It turns out they were treated with something to keep it from happening! Had those stupid taters suspended in water for 6 months! Then I bought seedlings from my local nursery and grew them in a stack of tires, lined with landscape plastic and filled with bagged topsoil.
