As far as the CO2 and O2, you are right and the others answering you are wrong. ALL living organisms "breath" in O2 and breath out CO2. They do take in CO2 during the day and not at night. So, you are right that they will be using up the O2 at night, but you would have to have a lot of plants to use more than the amount of O2 than say your spouse would if they were sleeping in the same room. Just a wild guess but I would say that 10 to 15 plants would not use any more O2 than one extra person in the room. Plus, going into the night, there will be more O2 in the room because of the plants being in there during the day.

As far as the watering, that all depends on what kind of plants you are growing. It could be anywhere from once a day to once a month depending on what kind of plant it is. You need to ask this question again with the specific plants you need to know about.

Indoor plants actually "consume" carbon dioxide and emit oxygen. Therefore you're apt to breath better (not worse) when you sleep with plants. You would have to have a lot of plants, however, before the oxygen level in your room would be effected to the point you'd notice it.

The amount of water to give a plant depends completely on the type of plant. Many just need a little water once a week. As a general rule you just need to water them when the soil is dry to the touch. Cactus obviously need very little water but sandy soil.

If you let a plant get really dry and you water it a lot, the water will run right through, onto your table. A better option in that case is to water just a little, then come back 15 minutes later and water more. The dampened soil will actually absorb much more water the second time.

Water your plants when the soil does not depress when you push on it with a finger. If the soil pulls away from the edges of the pot, it's too dry. If the soil is mushy, it's too wet. It should be somewhat spongy to the touch, but not mushy. Depending on the temperature and weather, they may need watering once a week, or once a day... To cut down on watering, use some peat moss over the soil to reduce evaporation.

Plants in the bedroom are excellent. They are natures air filters, and provide good oxygen. Make sure to buy plants suited for the light in the room though. Some plants like shade and others like bright sunlight. If your room is dark, you don't want to plant something that needs lots of sun.

EDIT:
BATES... it is against Yahoo rules to claim degrees which you do not hold. It would also be wise not to make outrageous false statements in regards to the subject of your false degree. I've included a link to a simple site which describes the process by which carbon dioxide is converted to oxygen by plants.

Plants take in CO2 and put Oxygen back into the atmosphere. That's why we don't run out of oxygen. If not for plants, we'd use up all available oxygen and then suffocate.

Yay for trees.

I'm not sure of what you are asking however, plants live off carbon dioxide and release oxygen. There is no danger to you or your plants from carbon dioxide.

In reference to your plants and a watering schedule, it depends upon the type of plant. If you do not know what type of plant you have then follow a general schedule of just keeping the soil moist but not soaked. Do not let the soil dry out unless it is a cactus.

Plants also emit (carbon dioxide)CO2 during respiration, so it is only during growth stages that plants are net absorbers. For example a growing forest will absorb many tonnes of CO2 each year, however a mature forest will produce as much CO2 from respiration and decomposition of dead specimens (e.g. fallen branches) as used in bio-synthesis in growing plants.
In the respiration stage, CO2 is quickly used up by photosynthesis. Plants produce carbon dioxide and a whole bunch of oxygen. Don't worry about houseplants . They're not going to a effect you in a negative way.

Plants take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen, so no worries there. As for watering, each plant has it's own water requirements -- some like wet soil others need drier soil to survive. Check plant sites like www.botany.com or www.gardenweb.com for the information specific to each plant.

flora seize the potential in easy by using a technique called photosynthesis. This technique makes use of carbon dioxide and produces oxygen. So flora soak up carbon dioxide on an identical time as freeing oxygen staring on the quantity of sunshine they acquire.

If you're unaware, plants give oxygen, they breathe in carbon dioxide. Usually you want to water plants once a week. But some plants, like some cactus, you only need to water once every 2 weeks.

Unfortunately it will be you who will release the carbon dioxide at night .Luckily the plant will not get mad at you for doing that.

Go ahead and put a plant in your bedroom, but make sure its healthy. You might get allergy attacks when it develops molds. Water at least 1x every 10 days in the winter and one in 7 days in the summer. .

Ok to answer this question we have to go back to the basics of biology plants dont release carbon dioxide they release oxygen. So putting them in your bedroom is perfectly safe. When it comes to watering them check a website to see what is reccomended for the plant you're talking about. Hope this helps.
