Thats great thanks.
only one problem.. the oil has dried up now! eek!

I did get a kitchen towel and soaked it all up.

So i guess now the question is, how do you get dried chair oil off the carpet?

first wipe off as much as you can. then sprinkle baby powder over where the oil was. then go do something for five minutes or more. the come back and vacuum off the baby powder. This should work!

Hello, Have you tried with baking powder? Take a tablespoon of baking powder add a small amount of tepid water to the powder& add this to the stain leave for 10 min´s or so, then with a sponge and cold water work your way inwards of the stain, like this you won´t spread the stain further. When you see the stain has been lifted wash the carpet with a little of your own hair shampoo, remove all the suds again with cold water and lay a towel with a heavy object on top . This will help to dry up any water from the underside of the carpet , leave over night like this .Use natural air to dry if you have a humidifier then this will help a lot. Hope this helps you

Well nothing mother nature friendly is going to remove a petroleum jelly based hydraulic grease from your carpet. You need to buy a blue can of Bissell Carpet & Upholstery cleaner. It runs about $3.89 a can in the sweeper section of your local super store or target. Spray on oil, let it sit scrub it out with the ruff lid. Then use a paper towel to "get the extra moisture" out of the carpet. Use your weight and step on it until dry.

Hydraulic chairs are notorious for this little trait, keep your carpet covered with a plastic chair guard they run anywhere from $3.99 to $8.99 Office Depot, Sam's or Costco.

Good Luck!
