Cockroaches are scavengers. They eat the same thing you do. Don't feed them and they'll go away. If your neighbors are slobs, they'll go live with them. If I see any roaches, I take everything off the shelves in the kitchen and look around. Usually I can find something I completely forgot about that got spilled. One time somebody managed to lose a slice of bread when it popped out of the toaster and landed under the radiator. I didn't hear anything about that until I found the bread. Suddenly our roaches all disappeared. I'm also very big on keeping things with plastic bags with twist ties. I use the bags that come with the newspaper because the ones they give you at the store have holes in them.

The only thing effective with cockroaches is moving, they have been around longer than dinosaurs and they are able to live after a nuclear bomb. Good luck, most apartments have them. Move into a newer one, bug traps suck!
