There is a product called "Urine Gone" that our local news channel tested on their weekly "does it work" segment, and this product passed with flying colors. You spray it on and blot dry, and it removes stains and odors from pet urine.

Yea. Go ahead and bleach it if you don't care about the color (me either) I'd rather have the smell out then to worry about the color of the mattress because who see's it anyway? LOL Then go to the store and get some kind of pet remover cleanser. Because cat piss is really hard to get out.

Most veterinarian offices sell special sprays to remove cat urine smell. I've also sprayed the area with Resolve Carpet spray then sprinkled baking soda on top of it. Let it set, then use a steam cleaner attachment to suck up the liquid. Then use the steam cleaner attachment to clean the mattress with a special steam cleaner pet detergent. Good Luck!!
