Very easy method of getting a smelly washing machine smelling fresh again, just use a cup of White or Cider Vinegar to water in a full machine without the clothes in it, put it through it's cycles then once it is done, Whalla!!!! it clean and fresh smelling again, do this method about twice a month and it will stay clean and fresh smelling. Good Luck !

It sounds like you have mold build up some where in the drainage system if you are not seeing mold or soap build up in the tub itself. Run a cycle with no clothes on hot and add at least a 1/2 gallon of white vinegar to the wash and rinse cyclyes... then run on hot with 1 cup of liquid bleach in each cycle (more could damage the rubber gaskets and seals) If the problem is in the drainage system that should do it., if it doesn't then you may have to open the cabinet and clean the inside. change to liquid detergent and lay off the fabric softener if you find that build up is the problem

Well you got soap scum buildup and standing water in the basin not all of it runs out with each wash Try 1gal of vinegar run usual wash cycle then 2 box baking soda run that thru the same way ..Depending on how old ur machine is you might have to do this a few times but, it does work

Pour a 2 litre bottle of white vinegar in the machine and maybe 5-10 drops of essential oil (eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, lemon or lemon myrtle are all good) and do a full wash cycle.

If you can, divert the grey water into a big bucket or your garden so that you're not wasting water.

Definitely will work - smells like the ads say it should.

Love to find out what saddistic genious designed these things. Just not made to clean properly.

I wipe - on the inside just under the covering around the round tub part (if you look, you may see soap, etc.) With a bleach solution, run the thing with hot water and 1 cup of bleach. Next month I use vinegar.

When you do your wash add a 1/4 cup of baking soda. Not only will it get rid of the odors in the machine it will rid your clothes of odors and it helps your detergent to work better.

I've had that problem before. What I did was, pull the tub apart all the way down to removing the basket too and cleaned it out very well including the drain line to remove any undissolved soap powders and other ickies and then I started buying only liquid laundry soap...problem solved.

It was a little work but I never had the problem again.

Easiest way is running it with 2 cups of baking soda in it. That keeps the smells out of the refrigerator, i'm certain it would in the washer too.

I used to have this problem all the time until I realized how to fix it....pour about 4L of vineger into the washer and then turn it on as if you are doing a load of laundry. You won't believe the difference!
