compost is ideal, good for your plants & totally safe ,those lucky enough to have pets like hens,a goat or rabbit have a ready source to prepare liquid manure, which as suggested already can be allowed to break down for a bit in water ,then used to pour into pots, residual smell can be a problem for day or two, which does not happen with compost.Compost making is great source of cheap, excellent & harmless fertiliser.

most any organic fertilizer or Scotts fertilizer will work as well cause of it having the smallest molecule of fertilizer on the market. I've got small dog and it doesn't bother her at all, just try to wipe your dog's feet if they come in house since the wet fertilizer will break down in the pads and discolor carpet.

I keep a rabbit just for her poop; it it the best "right now" fertilizer for my uses. You can use it directly, in its solid form, or make a "tea" from it, using water in a large container and letting it sit for a couple of days, stirring daily. Then just pour on!

Good old regular Bull S**T will be just fine. Any organic fertilizer will work...won't hurt animals.

Yah - compost!! Keep all your leaves, grass clippings, banana peels, etc., and mix it according to composting directions below. Great for the environment and good for the pets too.
