Make sure the flooring is stable (big slab of wood) and nail or screw in the wooden beams to form the frame. You'll probably want to use butt joints, and make sure the corners are all square (90-degree angles). Glue the frame to the flooring, and reinforce with either nails or screws. Allow at least a full day to dry...3 days would be best. Seal in corners with industrial strength, waterproof sealant to keep sand from spilling out. You may also choose to stain or paint the sandbox, for added protection from elements and nicer presentation.

Don't get splinters! Hope he likes it.

the sandbox we had as kids was just an old farm tractor tire put down over a chunk of roofing rubber to keep the weeds out. It was piled with sand and we had a ball!

Just cut your ply wood into half and then four equal strips for edges. Use the remaining half for a good top to keep neighborhood cats out of it when your little brother isn't there.

build it as suggested , but please dont fill it with white sand box sand. this is silica sand and when dry and airborne, its like breathing in little razor blades. causes silicosis in the long run. go buy some masons sand. its finer than concrete sand but not so fine that you would be inhaling it...
