Our house is about a year and a half old now and we have heavy crown molding in most rooms of our house. The house is settling, and there are cracks, not in the molding, but between where the molding meets the ceiling and between the molding pieces. What is the best way to fill those spaces to make the molding look even again? Our molding is solid white and so is the ceiling. Thanks in advance!

This question is refering to my first question scenario - because of our hurricane code down here in South Florida, would it mandate that there is metal in the first 2" from the ceiling in my enclosed porch. I am on the top floor, which is the third floor.
Thanks

I work 3 days a week at a school in a small classroom that has a very old heat vent up toward the ceiling that is broken and stuck open, for some reason it is like an oven in there! The janitor has told me he can not come up with any ideas on how to cover it for me and the children I work with and I suffer horribly! I would like to come up with something I can take with me to cover the days I have to work there as I came home yesterday sick from the heat! Are there any ideas out there? It is a fairly large vent. Any ideas? I got up on a chair and tryed to close it but the lever is broke off and it is rusted so badly I could not do much with it.

It's around 45-50 degrees now. My mom just got these 2 big plants as a present. They're in a pot, so we have no need to plant them, but I think they could use a bit of sunshine. It's actually not so cold in the sun, it's a bright day here. I'm not sure what type of plants they are, one has just a few flowers. I'm pretty sure it's some type of lily. It's mostly big green leaves with a few white-ish spots. The other has no flowers, it just has big green leaves with some yellow splotches blended in with it.

do I need a professional or do I detatch the hose at the machine and clear a buildup? I poured some CLR down the hose and let it sit overnight and it helped a little. what might be the problem?

I have stored my baby car seat in our garage for 3 months, but as the garage is damp and only used for storage, when I retrieved the car seat it had black/green mould dots all over it.
I tried sponging to no avail and then I tried putting the cover in the wash but it only removed the green powdery mould not the black dots.
I have a new baby due in 4 weeks and I am desperate to get the car seat cleaned and ready for her arrival... Any ideas? PLEASE HELP!!

The building is approximately 50' in height. I've heard in the ballpark of 1/4" per ft but I would just like to know for sure. Provide any sources if possible. Thank you.

We bought ours in 1984. It's a Whirlpool, still going strong 23 years later. We've replaced the dryer that matched it, but I think this is probably the best investment we've ever made. It cost about $350 way back when, so divided by 23 years, that's about 15/year. A dollar a month. It works great still.

To those who read about the proerty damage to my house and responded.I did get a hold of their insurance the day it happend,my neighbors acted so fake in sympathy but did help on taking the pctures.I was only allowed a certain amount for repairs. What was done is as follows....1.) I already have the 9 gauge
chain link fence up a good section of that was torn down by the car.I went ahead and found 2 contractors but the owner to this corner bar from my place recommended these 2 other guys.I beleaved in BOB.I went over just what I wanted done.I did not want a cheap commercial grade crap fence,I wanted the 9 gauge. They did the cheapie one.2)I can't explain the type of wooden siding
that is on this place, but the lower board was destroyed and that was to be replaced.I got corner connectors on the house that are made out of sheet metal
but it binds the corners together on the house. They said they could not find any
and there for went with this sheet metal type thing and molded it.Be Back.

Hi,

I have just moved into a new house that has a Concept 6 alarm system installed. As the house is a repossesion, the previous owner decided not to leave any user manuals or operating codes for the system. The system hasn't been used for several years, indicated by the boxes not being active. However, all the wiring seems fine and I would be interested in seeing if i could get the system to work. How do I go about aquiring manuals for such a system (I cannot find a link to the company through yahoo) so that I can reprogram the system?

Many thanks,

CJ
