We bought ours in 1984. It's a Whirlpool, still going strong 23 years later. We've replaced the dryer that matched it, but I think this is probably the best investment we've ever made. It cost about $350 way back when, so divided by 23 years, that's about 15/year. A dollar a month. It works great still.

sounds like you got your money's worth (you didn't mention the cost of maintenance or maintenance calls over those 23 years). Whirlpool and Maytag are the old standbys and they were long lasting. I used to have a Maytag. For years now I've used apartment washers (mostly Maytag) which used to cost 75 cents a load, now cost $1.25 a load. But over the years the load size has decreased, so I'm probably doing as good as you are, but, the apartment complexes are always fixing the machines (from overuse); that's why I asked what your maintenance costs were over the years..

Why no longer fix that tube your self. Pull again the washer, then initiate it and grow to be conscious of the leakage area. Then take off that rubber area and take it to an equipment elements position and they are going to tournament it for you. My wager is this aspect wont cost you any more beneficial that $10 to fix it. Dont be frightened of the aspect, worst aspect is think ofyou've got to call a restoration guy. identity call a handyman no longer some type of severe potential tech guy paying him $50 money an hour, it is honestly no longer needed the following. i imagine it is is irresponsible to junk a washer for some type of a leak in the again. Burned motor or a a gearbox lengthy gone then, for particular, yet a water leak. NO way

it's a maytag!!! 18 years new... I was told by the service guy... keep this machine... (I do any repairs, which have been minimal)... The new ones, like everything else have a shortened life!!! (won't last as long)
