Call a professional who deals with rugs or who cleans rugs and have them dye your rug, or go out and buy yourself a new rug if the cost of dyeing is too costly for you.
There once was a very large spot on the rug of an apartment I once rented (it was too late to cancel the contract). They refused to replace the rug and determined they could spot dye it. They spot dyed the rug and it became so sticky that it matted my cat's fur and her fur had to be cut off over and over again in spots from the stickiness (she was a long haired cat). So be aware that there are products out there that aren't that good to use. At least with a professional if they make a mistake or mess up then you have recourse.

No. this is not something to try on an installed carpet with stains. The stains will probably react differently, so the color won't be even, and there just isn't any equipment available for this. If you hire someone, I would get references, and look at completed work. I've never heard of this being done successfully.
