The apartment complex here just gave our trees a buzz cut and left lots of firewood, but then the next truck came by and made sawdust out of them. So I'm suggesting that maybe a company that makes sawdust would stop before that and sell you the wood, check your hellow pages for tree maintenance services. Also you might want to ask some construction/developers in your area because as they build homes they clear the lots of trees, and as they cut them down they can sell you the firewood.

Firewood is sold usally by face cords. That is 4 feet by 4 feet by 12 inches. Be careful as any number of trees are illegal to transport and sell as firewood due to verious infestations. Seasoned firewood will cost you more

Go to Freecycle.org and find the freecycle nearest you. With freecycle, you can ask for things, offer things to give away that you don't want, and it must be 100 percent free. So if someone has extra firewood sitting around, they may enjoy giving it to you! I love freecycle. I have gotten rid of, I mean freecycled some old couches and clothing, it's the best.

I live in a city in Ohio. The city gives all the removed trees away for free. The only fee is $2.25 to rent the trailer. ( Yes, two dollars and twenty five cents)
