...I have looked all over the 'net' and can not find out how to paint step by step faux brick. At least not so that it would look real anyway. I plan to make it appear that I have brick wall showing behind a plaster wall at certain places in my kitchen.
Could someone please help?

I hear "counter clock-wise." Is that from the bottom looking up? Are the blades facing down or up?

My mother always saved bacon grease in a coffee can (I guess because it was too hot to throw in the trash and too greasy to throw down the sink) and then threw out the entire can. Is there a better way to get rid of bacon grease? Would animals eat it if I threw it outside? I guess I'm looking for an easy and environmentally friendly way to get rid of it.

I am installing laminate flooring over ceramic tile (6X6 smoothe with recessed grout) to bring it up to the proper hieight. Do I need to, or how do I, secure the 1/8" underlayment to the ceramic floor. A local installer said I did not need to secure the underlayment and to let ot float. Sounds too easy. Removing the tile would be a lot of work. Any thoughts?

I have a section of trees (about an acre or more) that are very thick, to the point that as a whole they are all suffering. Keeping in mind I am very environment friendly and hate the idea of even cutting down a tree I want to make sure that cutting some will benefit others.

I guess the question is... should I cut down some to thin the forest and how do i decide which ones to cut?

Purchased a house built in 1800. Sagging floors part of the charm. Now after lots of rain, unusually warm period and then heavy snow and ice (freezing) my front door wont shut, the doorframe inside to my living room is split quite a bit up top and the corner to the left of the front door, inside the living room is split top to bottom where the two walls meet. Under the living room (left of the front door) is a crawl space. To the right of the front door, front room is basement with granite rock and cement block foundation. What could have caused this and how can I fix it?
