did you just install it or a new garbage disposal? I put in a new disposal and forgot to remove the plug for the dishwasher. It's where the hose attaches to the disposer. Option two would be to take off the discharge hose and place it in a bucket. Then close the washer door for 10 seconds hit the start button and see if water comes out. Open the door to stop the water.
If it pumps then you have blockage somewhere other than the washer.

Follow these steps, let the dish washer run its cycles until is cut off. If that hasn't solved your problem then it must be something wrong and you may need to get is checked out for repair.

Simple, it's the pump. They do wear out. If its under warranty, great...if not, they're not expensive to have replaced. Good Luck!
