How do you add curb appeal to a house?

I replaced my front door with a solid wood prefinished door from lowes or home depot. i had neighbors stopping me and telling me how good the door looked. mine was about 3K with two sidelights, but it is an amazing looking door.
other than something like that, the obvious is landscaping, adding bushes, shrubs, etc. keeping the grass cut neat, pulling weeds, and just a good general cleaning around the house

make sure that no trees , plants or shrubs hide the front view of the house. plantings should accent, not dominate the view. the exterior should be clean, uncluttered, & look like it was freshly painted.A well kept yard is important also.
