Today I had one of my worst migraines, & I suffer them at least once a month [& I don't think it's related to my periods as the migraines are random not 'set' times like periods]. Today at school [I'm 15] I felt the start of a migraine in maths. My vision was starting to go peculiar & I had a strange tingly - almost like pins & needles - in my hand. By English the headache had kicked in & I found it hard to concentrate, words were a jumble when I tried to read my work. By Art I felt on the verge of actually throwing up, my headache was horrible & my vision was awful. I had some dissolving tablets with water & I assume that's why my headache is very minor right now after two extra paracetemol's since coming home. The journey home in the taxi was awful as well as my headache was really hurting & I actually wound down the window thinking if I was sick, I'd do it OUT of the car 'cause I really did feel as if I'd puke. -cont-

It's been going on for a month and I've been off school for this.

I have a doc appointment on Friday. Is this an IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) or IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)? If not, what do you think it is?

Hello,
I have been taking Norco 10mg, 4-5 times a day for about 3 months for chronic pain, legally prescribed of course [Norco is just hydrocodone like Vicodin, but without so much tylenol]. But the pain is still pretty bad, so I was just today prescribed the Fentanyl patch which is longer acting.

I haven't put one on yet because the included leaflet kind of scared me. It mentions that you need to be tolerant to opiates before starting the medicine so that your body doesn't accidentally overdose. Since I've been taking the Norco for a few months, I guess my body is somewhat tolerant. But in the instructions it lists the minimum doses of other opiates that you should be taking prior to starting so that it's not too much of a shock to your system I guess. It lists morphine, oxycodone, etc. but not hydrocodone. It's the same doctor and pharmacy that gave it to me that has given me the Norco, so I'd assume they'd know, but I didn't want to be too careful.

The prescription is for 1-2 patches every 3 days, at 50 MCG/HR each (Told to start with 1 first and see if that's enough). I'm not looking to overdose, and was hoping someone could shed some light on this a bit. Is my hydrocodone dose (40-50mg/day) enough to start this? Thanks!

during my soccer game today, im a goalie, i slid in front of a girl a she ran into my leg, or possibly kicked it. it was right above my knee. it hurt instantly but i stayed in the game, i just had to hobble around. it didnt hurt to kick, but it hurt when i came back down on the leg. while sitting down in the car with my foot flat on the ground i couldnt lift the leg. ive now noticed that it is quite swolen, but hardly any brusing. but it hurts quite badly and ive been walking around with quite the limp and the leg sometimes just like buckles up on me and i have to go up the stairs one foot at a time. i know its going to be very sore tomorrow but at what point would i want to go to the doctors? i got hit in the same spot, same leg, playing basketball and it hurt for a few days but it definitely didnt feel this bad on the night that it happened. what did i do? how can i help? do i practice tomorrow? when to call the doctor?

I know this is a very personal question, but the reason I ask is because I take pain pills. I have severe scoliosis, my spine is shaped like an "S" and my curves, last time I checked, were measuring 53 and 55 degrees. I have never had surgery, and don't intend to. I have had this since I was 12, and I am 26 now. As I got older the pain got worse, and finally in 2005, I started taking pain pills. I was ashamed at first to resort to taking pain pills, as there is a stigma that goes with them. But in order to be a productive mother/wife/person, I need pain management. I take Lortab, the 10's...I only take 2 at night, and I suffer during the day because I am afraid of becoming a "junkie". I also take a muscle relaxer at bedtime. This only reduces the pain, as it never goes away entirely. I would just like to hear other peoples stories who have chronic pain that is a common part of their everyday life. Sorry so long.

My grandpa used to complain of this too when he was alive. Right now it feels like there is a needle stuck in my toe.

And yes, I have checked my feet and there is nothing stuck in them. This is an internal problem of some sort. These feelings come randomly.

It's not so bothersome that I'd need to see a doctor, but it is pretty weird and can be painful. Anybody know something about this phenonmenon?

She has started walking crooked, but she is only in her 40's. She is old at all, and its really hurting her. How can she get rid of the pain, or get it back ok again, without taking paracetamols or seeing her gp/doctor. Anyone know?

It is really bad, and I dont think sleep could cure it.

Any Ideas?

Thanks x

I know every case is unique and every individual is different when it comes to pain so I figured i would try to get some advice before going to the dr. and spending hundreds of dollars. For the last month or so i have been having sever pain under my center rib cage. Antacids, pepto bismo does not touch it. It feels like heartburn or my stomach is on fire. I usually wake up in the middle of the night with this pain. My back is starting to hurt between my shoulder blades now when i wake up in the morning. I have noticed that eating pizza or tomatoe based products seem to cause the worse symptoms. If anyone else has experienced these symptoms please let me know. Its sounds like i am having problems related to my gallbladder but wanted a second opinion. Thanks everyone.
