Sounds like a repetitive motion injury. Carpal Tunnel is one form of this type of injury, so you can look that up to see if the symptoms match. If you do the same thing every day, your ligaments can wear out. Try changing your routine; I got some pains in my wrist once and wound up doing everything with my other hand for a while, like holding the steering wheel or brushing my teeth. All of these activities add up, so try changing your daily activities and hopefully it will heal in a few weeks. If you take a pain reliever, try to take it just at night; if you mask the pain, you will just continue to hurt the area worse until your pain reliever doesn't work anymore; then it's a BIG problem! I wish you the best of luck; it's no fun to be in pain.

I had the same problem and this is what I learned. The problem is in not stretching out the hip flexor muscles that are in front of your pelvis. During the day as you walk and/or run these muscles contract and keep getting shorter as the day goes on. This causes the pelvis to be pulled forward so the back compensates by pulling the pelvis into the correct position and this is the cause of your pain. Before you lay down to sleep do some hurdler stretches for your quads and hip flexor stretches. Also, you may need to sleep on a more firmer mattress and make sure you are wearing quality shoes.

Massage stimulates the area, improving and increasing blood flow, which helps heal tissue faster. If it happens every morning something is wrong with how you're sleeping. Try a neck-support pillow.

You might have a mild form of sciatica - you might want to try anti-inflammatory medicine (Advil) and some light stretching/yoga

My guess is that it's your pillow/s and your matress. Consider shopping around for new ones.
