Pain & Pain Management - October 2007

My stomach hurts really bad. IT has been going on for like a month. It hurts below my ribs. I don't know why can you help?

i want to either be a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant (PTA)

do they do the same thing basically? what does one do that the other doesnt?

currently i would prefer the PTA because it only takes 2 years to become one instead of 6. but i might change my mind depending on what each really does.

sites are welcomed as well as experience

please help this is one of the worst feelings ever I havent been able to go all day yesterday and today my head feels like it gonna explode and i need to go to the bathroom so badly but nothing works. i have tried so many things still cant go. this has happened to me several times before and it is unbearable..help pls

I woke up this morning with a back ache. It's the upper part of my back that's hurting. Sometimes the pain also goes to the front. It hurts more when I gulp or take a deep breath. I don't have someone to take me to the hospital until this afternoon. Any suggestions what's causing my pain and what can I do about it?

I cut off the end of my thumb and have been taking loratab for about 18 days. I just stopped yesterday but i got extreme cold sweats and became very emotional. Pharmacist says to wean off slowly. Is that the best way?

i have had a headache for 5 days in a row already.there are a few reason why i might have it 1.alot of stress and crying 2.allergies or 3. being in front of the computer and straining my eyes. can someone tell me what i can do to get rid of it.i take tylonol but as soon as it wears off its there again. thanks for your help!

I have severe pain in my groin area. I am also feeling like i'm going to throw up. I am presently taking percocet for the pain but the pain seems to be worse. Does anyone have any ideas to help control the pain (heat, cold). I don't want to go to the ER because they get rid of the pain for a bit when i go there but it always comes back. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and I have been referred to a local surgeon.

Hey all,

I am a college student who has recently been experiencing some slight vertigo while working on my on-campus library. It happens briefly and it is not from getting up too quickly. I have been looking into taking some motion sickness medicine, but I am not sure that is the best bet. Could this be more serious than I think? I don't worry too much about it because after all, it is just dizziness that I feel. I am a college student, it could just be stress and exhaustion... right? Input would be highly appreciated.

Today someone kicked my ankle, and its not swollen or anything, it just really hurts. and i did 5 hours of cheer today and now it hurts even more.

Ok this past two days ive been getting head chills it feels tingly and feels like my hair stands up. my body hurts especially my legs and hands. i also get a mild fever at night about 98 or 99.
i am stressed
i am 14.
could it be stress?? or something else?

ever since i was 7 or 8 i have been getting these horrible headaces. They feel absoltely terrible! They always follow by vominting to. but recently i have had blood work and my liver enzyme was high. One of the questions the doctor asked was if i get headaces like what i described. Of course like an idiot i didn't even say anything. Could they be something more then just migraines? If so what do you think they are? thanks for your input.

I am only 23 years old, I work out regularly, 5 days a week including cardio, weights, and yoga.

I have been having hip pain for about a year, I am not able to do some yoga positions because my hip joints feel like they are going to pop out. During sex (this is pretty embarrassing), I'm not able to be on top for long because it bothers my hips so much. I can't ride my bike (which is something I love to do) without my hips hurting for the next two days.

I started taking Glucosamine about a week ago because I read it helps your joints, but my hip joints still really bother me. I'm way too young to be having hip related problems, please help!

When I fall asleep at night and lying on my left side, I often ( most nights ) wake up with my left hand asleep. This is agony for a few mins, after shaking it about for a few mins it slowly goes back to normal. This started a few months ago and seems to be becoming more regular and more severe. What could be causing this? I do a lot of computer mouse work ( right handed) I do also somtimes get a bit of a sore neck on the left side.

I have a sharp pain on my right lower abdomen..It kinda feels like cramping but really bad. It isnt constant, but every few hours for about half an hour. Then it moves to the back. Then during sex i get a sharp pain above my hip bone, about belly button high on the right. I have been feeling dizzy and really tired lately. I went to the doctor and she said she didnt think it was my appendix and all the other organs felt right, Then said she didnt know what it was and just to wait to see if i start my period cause i might just be ovulating..then go back. What could be the different causes of this??


There is no pain at all when you press on the area, and it has been going on for a while. It started right after i got off my period and im going to start again, so i dont think it is my period.
