Your problem is not an unusual one if you are taking pain pills containing any morphine dirivitive. As a rule of thumb keep yourself hydrated. drink @ least four 20oz glasses of water a day.just force yourself.also for short term relief go get some dried prunes/aprocotes and eat a few(while still drinking water.your morning routine should consist of some sort of oatmeal/raisen bran. but. for immediate help. go get a bag for constipation with a nozzle.(local pharmacy have these wal-mart too.)fill with luke warm soapy water(not dawn) some dove or any hand soap will do while your filling the bag under the bathtub faucet.hang bag on curtain rod. lube up anus with some ky jelly or whatever ya have available. insert into butt while standing and release the water from the bag via the little release valve that it comes with.let your bowels get good and full. this may cause some discomfort but will help.hold in as lonf as you can.sit on toilet and let er' rip.repeat if ness. but don't overdo it. this may cause to much hydration. i'd do it twice .second time hold in for a longer period for best results.have planty of TP. good luck.

did you try a fleets enema? or even a glycerin suppository or ducolox suppository takes a few seconds to use
evacuates the bowel in minutes
easy to administer
available in any drug store
no cramps like with laxatives and does not give you numerous or multiple stool afterwards like MOM or exlax might
you might want to tale colace or pericolace regularly if you have this problem often they are stool softeners
room temperature prune juice or stewed prunes or dates also help
always drink plenty of water and eat foods with fiber
you didn't say if this is a one time thing or a chronic problem so it is hard to answer- and that should be discussed with your doctor as regular use of laxatives like MOM causes the body to be dependent on them to have a bowel movement
if you take any medications constipation is a side effect of some of them
also sometimes the stool becomes impacted in the rectum as it is hard and dry and has to be manually removed- this happenes mostly in the elderly and physically immobilized but can happen to anyone

You need to see a doctor.
The cause could any number of things, from a lack of fruit, fibre and water in your diet to more serious causes.
You could always try laxatives, or things like prunes which are known to help your bowel movements, but if your constipation has been bad for some time, or is causing you this much pain, you should really seek medical advice.

My son actually ended up in the emergency room with this problem. Had to get an IV and morphine. It can be very serious. They gave some prescriptions, but milk of magnesia was the best remedy. He also has to take a daily dose of fiber, even when there are no problems, to prevent another attack.

I have serious constipation problem as well. You can try getting laxative at the pharmacy. However, if problem persists, it’s advisable to see a doctor.

Most constipation is caused by not drinking enough water and not eating enough fiber.
Try an enema.
