My grandpa used to complain of this too when he was alive. Right now it feels like there is a needle stuck in my toe.

And yes, I have checked my feet and there is nothing stuck in them. This is an internal problem of some sort. These feelings come randomly.

It's not so bothersome that I'd need to see a doctor, but it is pretty weird and can be painful. Anybody know something about this phenonmenon?

I rarely wear heels, so I know it has nothing to do with my shoes. I've had these sensations for many years.

I also know it has nothing to do with diabetes or neuropathy. My friend's mom has both of those and my symptoms are not that serious. I just get a random prick feeling in one spot of my foot.

This could definitely be nerve related. In fact, it could be a symptom of another underlying disease like diabetes. If this is something like neuropathy, it could be degenerative and you should definitely know about it. I believe that you should see a doctor for a checkup just to make sure that there is no underlying cause. You might also find relief through a chiropractor.
