I think mine is fractured, but I am debating whether or not to go to the doc. I've read that there isn't much they can do for it other than tell you to rest and prescribe pain killers. I already have vicoprofen for a back problem.

So, does anyone think it's necessary that I see a doctor?

It is really bad tonight, and all over. I've had chronic pain for ten years, but this is an all time high.

Can anybody give me any suggestions that I could put into practice right now (massage, accupuncture.. etc would be great, but will have to wait until morning).

I have been taking Lyrica for unexplained chronic pain for about two weeks now and am having some pretty awful side effects. The worst ones being my eyes are dry, feels like sand are in them, swollen, lots of pressure in them and just very very sore and watery all the time. I also have been having lower back pain since taking it and I never had that before. Has anyone else had any problems like this, or others on this medication? Do they go away, continue or get worse? Are there terrible withdrawal effects when stopping it?

I have thoracic outlet syndrome along with 2 herniated cervical discs and one buldging disc. I also have straightening and narrowing of the c spine. I have had this going on since January and am in extreme pain. I've been seeing a chiropractor who has been doing cervical manipulation. i don't like it...my neck cracks so bad and hurts. Since he' s done this I have felt worse and now have ringing in the ears, ear pain and stuffiness and vertigo all the time. I feel sick. I also have trouble swallowing now. I'm a mess and don't know what to do. Anyone have any suggestions.

27 yo f. 105 lbs 5'4" I've had a sonogram and docs found nothing. One doc thinks it might be a pushed out muscle, she thinks physical therapy can help push it back in.It looks like an oversized love handle and still growing. It doesn't hurt when I push on it or when when I walk. It's a very slight pain, that comes and goes every hour or so. I don't feel it in my spine, just deep in my left side and nothing I do makes it hurt worse. Should docs look for anything else. One doc told me that it's just fat! Fat doesn't freaking hurt and I'm skinnier than most of hollywood! Could it be cysts?

I got my cartilidge pierced in spring. It hurt for a while then stopped. In august it was hurting again and was on and off until finally I saw some crust around it and it was pussing. It was either clear or yellow I can't remember. Then my mom told me to take it out. There was some scar tissue there is big and round like my diamond that was in it earlier. It wasn't hurting after that for two days but not it is very unbearable. Is this the piercing just healing or something else? If so/or not what can I do other than go get it checked out by a doctor?

Has anyone had any success clipping scar tissue so it no longer presses on the nerve in the lower spine?? The Doctors say it will only cause more scar tissue and make it worse. How about laser surgery?? Does it help?? I am soon going to be in a wheel chair because of this.

Breakthrough pain is withdrawal period. ANd beleive me I know, been there. Anyone anyone that is given a run of pain pills for a lenght of time are addicted, but you can't give opiates to an addict. But it is okay in pain management, these people are full blown physically dependant. Physically dependant, breakthrough pain, is the all terms but when one opiate don't work switch to another, hence breakthrough meds, these people are crashing off their dose that no longer works, even in a 12 hour period. why is this different? Is it just Legal issue's, so no one was ever in a rehab, they can legally withdraw from opiates, which they do , "and use their breakthrough, Breakthrough pain is the real joint, all over body pain that happens when their meds are not working, hence WITHDRAWAL! Don't tell me it isn't!And they naturally don't get the runs, flu symptoms because they have other opiates to not let that happen.
