take a warm bath or shower, listen to calming music, meditation, heating pad or hot pack of some sort, stretching... if you have some biofreeze, tiger balm, icy hot, try rubbing that in the areas that hurt. be sure to stay hydrated and try to get enough sleep. if you're lacking in either, pain, emotions, and stress seem so much more intense

I have chronic pain too, 5 years.
Incense or candles, sound machine or music--anything that helps the senses distract me from pain.
I finally got a dose of med that helps--for the first time in 4 years!
Good luck! It's so very tough as you already know.

Don't know whether this works but no harm giving it a try! Squeeze half a lemon into a glass of water....just drink it. You'll find it helps to 'kill' the pain after a couple of hours - keep on repeating when necessary...but if used too long: frequently and over say 2 or 3 weeks, becasue your body gets used to this the effect becomes less effective. Lay off then for a month (using other possible solutions) and come back to this method thereafter. Of course depending on your body constitution it will work to various degree. Best of luck!

I wrote an article on chronic pain located on myspace.com/redrosediane. In the meantime, this is something you want to speak with a pain management doctor. There are many alternatives you should also discuss. If you don't have a physiatrist (pain med doctor) then have your primary doctor recommend one. Pain clinics are everywhere now. When I went, they provided heat and nerve stimulators including pain medications.

So, have you had an MRI scan of your brain? Since I don't know what you have had done, its hard to say what to try next. i would try to look at your hormone levels to see if they are normal. Also, have you been checked to see if you have Diabetes? If your insulin level is not right (insulin regulates blood sugar) you will experience terrible headaches, either from too much sugar or not enough. Check it out, and let us know if this helps.

For now, take some Advil for the pain. Take a Benedryl to help you sleep until you can get more relief in the morning.

You could smoke marijuana. I know they use it for chronic ailments such that you describe.
