Has anyone had any success clipping scar tissue so it no longer presses on the nerve in the lower spine?? The Doctors say it will only cause more scar tissue and make it worse. How about laser surgery?? Does it help?? I am soon going to be in a wheel chair because of this.

Thank you so much for your answers!!
I have tried Lycra but it was no help at all. I am on pain meds and can walk some on the meds.
I fell last month cracking some ribs and the pain in my legs is also much worse.
I have had steroids injected in my spine with very little help.

I am in the exact same boat and the doctors won't touch me.
I feel so helpless, when I had the original surgery I thought all of this would be over and now it is back and worse than ever.
I assume it is your sciatic nerve that is compromised? The one thing that my doctor did do for me is start me on a drug used for Nerve issues called Lyrica. It is really great and I would say that I have at least 30 to 40% of my mobility back.
The drug is described as similar to Neurontin, but other than the intent I see no similarities, Neurontin only mildly eased my nerve pain and did not improve mobility at all, plus the side effects where awful. With Lyrica I did have some trouble getting used to it, but that only lasted 2wks since then, no problem!!!
Hopefully you can try this if you haven't already because right now it is the only thing I have working for me, the doctors sure aren't.

I have Arthritis and Disc prolapse and I assumed they would operate, but it seems not. Instead they have me on Fentanyl transdermal Patches and Lyrica. I have read that they do not tend to operate on the back anymore, why I do not know, but I am now wondering if it is because of this scar tissue build up or what they call 'adhesions?' The Fentanyl helps with the everyday pain along with the Lyrica for the nerve pain, however when the Disc does whatever it does, last time I collapsed on the floor, out cold for three hours. Thankfully when I came back I still had my legs, bowel, bladder and so did not need to use the wheelchair. In March the disc did what it does and I was in a back brace and wheelchair. I doubt they will operate now, but the new drug treatments should keep you pain free.
