I woke up and my arm was completely numb and immovable. It took at least a minute for the 'pins and needles' sensation to start and for me to have some muscle control over it. It made me wonder if sleeping on a limb wrong for too long can cause some kind of permanent damage.

I have a back injury. I live alone. I travel. I can't lift anything over a certain weight. I have a problem lifting groceries and other things. If a fork lift were tiny it would be perfect for my home. Is there anything on the market that can lift for me. I have rolling luggage and a lift on my car. I need one in my home. I can make something or buy something.

I know it used to be a nasty surgery and all 15 years ago (like when my doctor said I would need it) But, I figure since it has been so long, that there is either a less invasive procedure or do they pretty much skip the rebuilding step and go right for the replacement?

I went to the batting cages stretched out my arms, but crap, not my hip area. Now my right hip hurts everytime I use it. It feels like I strained it. If so, how can I "make it better" not the pain but to "fix it".

Ok, I'm upset right now. I went to a Chiropractor 2 weeks ago to find out about a pain in my back and leg. He said all I needed was an adjustment and after he adjusted me he gave me an X-ray. He told me once the results came back that they were to dark and that he would give me free X-rays in 2 weeks. I went back today and he gave me 4 more X-rays he said all of them were to dark to read. I then requested all my medical records because my family doctor wants to see what's going on with my back and leg. The chriopractor refused to give me any of my medical records and said that the chriopracter had no progress notes. Now my family doctor is going to request for them herself. Also when I requested them they told me that the records would not leave their building.
Does this sound like normal everyday medical procedures?

I broke my 3rd & 4th metatarsal 5 weeks ago. When I 1st did it, I got a cast on and was told to come back in 4 weeks to have it xrayed and another cast on for a further 3 weeks. When I went back to have it xrayred, they just took the cast off and sent me home! Didn't ask about pain or anything, didn't even have my 1st xray up on the screen! How do I know they are healing properly? Why did they change their minds? Could it have been that it was absolutely packed in the waiting room? Or is this normal? Although I hated the cast,I feel my foot is very vulnerable and also like my protection has gone. When I asked about the xray the doc looked at me as if I was putting it on or something!! and said 'you don't want another cast on do you?' I was like 'well, no, but it is still hurting alot' and he goes 'I think you're right, you don't need another one on, you are discharged.' I left with a big '?' above my head.
