They're poisonous to other spiders, which are their favorite food, but harmless to human beings because their fangs are too short to penetrate your skin. Be kind to them, they're cool and they keep the spiders that CAN hurt you in check.

Unfortunatley all spiders are poisonous, fortunatley the amount of venom they deliver through sometimes minute "fangs" is the factor, daddy long legs probably dont have the means to bite or poison a human, but whatever they eat is in for it......

Actually they are one of the most (if not the most) poisonous spiders in the world. However it's not that they don't know how to bite, but the fact that their mouths are not big enough to bite people so humans are safe, feel free to pull the legs off of em at any time.

No they aren't poisonous (venomous). they did a bunch of experiments on this myth on the TV show "Mythbusters". Like most arachnids, they do have a little venom, but they tested it and found it to be extremely weak.
they 'know' how to bite, but are a very non-agressive species. So they never bite, even when nasty kids are pulling their legs off...

Injureddancer, from the pictures in that link, those are not what we in the UK mean by daddy long legs. Craneflies are what we have - they have wings and float through the air making a buzzing noise and erratic movements. Loathsome creatures!

don't think its the daddy long legs that fly think its s the spindly spider ones, we get them at home, they're like daddy long legs without wings (yuck hate spiders freaking me out thinking about it!) they're poisonous but can't bite through the skin. (and I'm guessing that there isn't enough poison in them to do harm to humans)

The common house spider is the most venomous spider in the world, but its hair like fangs cannot puncture human flesh thus rendering it harmless (unless you're a bug of course)

Yes, They are one of the most poisionous if not the most poisonous of all insects. This is because their poision is so concentrated. Their problem is that their mouth is not developed enough to actually pierce human flesh. This is the reason why they are not harmful to humas.
