Hi everyone, I have been having Dysuria (painful urination) for the past 3 weeks now. I first went to the ER and was diagnosed with a UTI and perscribed the anti-biotic Septra and Pyridium. But my physician said to stop the anti-biotics because UTIs are so uncommon in males. She said drink a lot of water because my urine is probably just ultra-concentrated (so its acid) and perscribed me more Pyridium. When I "go" It burns and im having a lot of urgency, its really bad without the Pyridium. I had a childhood history with blood in my urine and salt crystal things in my urine but this is the first time this pain has happened since, has anyone ever had something like this. Also, I was home for the holidays and my whole family said I was soo underweight. I'm 5'4" 96lbs, what do you think?

Thanks

I have been getting random pains in my left knee for the past few months, like if I am walking it starts to hurt, or I wake up in the middle of the night and it kills, but at other times it feels completely fine, what could it be?

My husband and i were in the other room and heard a big crash/bump then screams. My 2 yr old son had fallen off the bed and hit his face on an open drawer (according to my 4 yr old daughter). He was bleeding from the nose and upper lip/gum area. He seems ok, but has a HUGE bump on his fore head and seems like he is having trouble breathing thru his nose. Should i give him children's motrin for pain? I have already kept him awake about an hour and he seems fine other than that. He seems to be acting normal. Any other suggestions? I tried icing the bump, but was difficult to.

They had to glue her wound shut. They said it is an alternative to stitches. I didnt like that idea but they promised it wouldnt get infected. Well... there is pus inside the glue where the wound is now. I called the ER and they had a doctor call me. The doctor said it was ok and not to worry about it unless she gets a fever or it swells up or smells funny. If that happens, take her to urgent care. The pus is a yellowish color. I am still worried. What should I do?

i am a 26 year old male . I am having back pain on both sides near the mid back . It hurts when i bend sideways , twist and my lower back feels very , very tight . At times i feel so tight with pain that if i force it i hear grinding , crunching and popping sounds and get a very temporary releif but not for long . This has been going on for 3 months . Any ideas on what this could be ? What makes your back crack and stuff while experiencing pain ? The cracking and grinding itself doesnt hurt at all .

It is more a feeling of discomfort than pain. It is worrying me a little bit. Is a hernia always very painful or can it feel like what I am experiencing? Please no groin jokes. I am entirely serious about this question.

I have not had any sleep for about 4 days, maybe and hour every night (broken sleep). I just lay in bed and the next thing I know 7 hours have gone by. Here are the pills I have tried over the past year or so:

Tynelol PM, all the other PM's : Does nothing
Simply Sleep: Nothing
Tradzone: My Doc gave me this, worked for a week last year but it gives me a rapid heartbeat and now it doesn't even help me sleep.
Sleep MD: Gimmic, does nothing
Melatonin: Nothing

My doctor is a moron he recommended Benadryl next, am I 5 years old. I don't think he understands how serious this is, I am beginning to blow up at people at work and am very irritable. I can't drink a warm glass of milk because I am lactose intolerant. I don't even drink coffee anymore or soda.

Any suggestions, please I am open to try anything at this point.

i have had my ears pierced for years, so am not worried about them closing. i read somewhere to dissinfect teh earring and put it back in, but i was not sure if that was only to keep a new piercing from closing. Also, the ear does not hurt but when i took my earing out there was pus on the post and if was slightly red. Should i wear 14k gold earings or leave them out until it heals?

I sprained my ankle on christmas morning! Immedietly following I realized I had heard a popping sound and started to shake really badly, like I was in shock maybe! My ankle still bothers me a lot, and yes I have tried to stay off of it as much as possible! I went to the doctor today and he said that nothing was broken that he could see, but to stay off of it for at least 2 weeks, but I have been noticing lately that my right foot and ankle are really sucesptable(spelling) to cold temperatutes! Does anyone know if this is just a common bad sprain or if there might be more too it! I only ask because of the whole intollerance to cold on that foot! Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated!
One more thing, the doctor asked me if I wanted crutches and I turned him down since I can walk on that foot, but for some reason I think I should have taken him up on it~!

I am in gymnastics. I have a meet tom. I had a sore hamstring muscle before today and now it is so bad it hurts to move my leg. I really want to compete but should I?? I compete all around(all events) I really want to but someone told me that it will keep it from healing. It is very painful but I wouldn't care as long as I place. Should I??
My coach told me that if I miss the meet I can consider myself "off the team". Should I just push through the pain and go for it??
What do you think I should do?? My b/f says it is up to me what I choose, and he will carry my to the podium if he has to.
Does he care if he says this??
Will he be happy as long as I am even if I can barely walk??
I don't want to lose my chance at state champ. Will me b/f be upset when I can barely walk and blame himself for letting me??(cuz it wasn't his fault)

i would like to hear from people who have actually used it. are you entitled to the same kind of care as someone who is insured privately or do you see something lacking.
