Back injuries are hard and slow to heal because of the way the muscles are situated. Think of them as tiny tendrils coming from your spine and connecting to other ligaments. Injuring one makes the others do extra work, so it is hard to heal from.

Sometimes, no matter the therapy, the injury won't go away. I would take it real easy and real slow, and work your way back up. Jumping back into the strenuous program you may have had will just re-injure the area, and may be debilitating for life.

Good luck, and consider physical therapy. Some of them are really good at what they are doing, and know where to target the affected area with particular exercises.

Never mess with your back, you need your entire life. It's worth while seeing a doctor. I've had lumbago, which is very pain full and paralyzed my legs for almost 2 days. After that I went to see a doctor and he recommended physical therapy which I had for about 5 months and he gave me exercises. I added some from a website, which are almost the same. It's important to strenghten your abs to relief your back from all the lifting work.
Make sure you get the right medical advise, because every injury can be different and be careful with doing gymnastics, since the frequency may not help, but worsen the problem.
Also having the right mattress on your bed,may help it getting better. It already may help, just to turn it over.

Good luck

I have the same problem with my lower back. I had an injury and I have had muscle spasms ever since. I do go to a chiropractor now to get relief, but my chiropractor told me I should have gone to a doctor right after the injury because I would not have been in the pain that I am now suffering.

I have a serious back injury. Have had surgery. My back will never heal to 100 % again. You should see a real back doctor...A REAL DOCTOR. Be very careful taking home remedies for your back. It depends on the injury as to if a chiropractor would help or possibly make it worse. I left mine go for way to long...didn't go to the doctor until I had so much pain I couldn't move and my leg paralyzed.....don't wait that long.

You need deep tissue massaging, you should make an appointment right away, just because its your spine, back pains are the worse, if you do not pay attention to it right away means your mining that pain, go and get that deep tissue massage ASAP, and do it every month.

Do you see a chiropractor, get acupuncture, ...? I'd start there.
