My husband is having surgery for spinal stenosis next month. He is having x-stops placed between a few of his vertabrae to relieve the pressure on the nerves and have one fusion . This is a realatively new procedure. According to the pamphlet he will be in the hosptial overnight and should be feeling relief in a few days. Anyone had this done? However, he is also having a fusion , what can we expect post op for that ( the two procedures will be done at once)

The pain comes and goes, but sometimes I almost can't walk, it hurts so much to lift my foot. My foot does not hurt and neither do my thighs or hips. Sometimes my leg kind of aches around my upper shin. I have jerked my knee before, and it never felt like this. In this case, the pain is not so much in my knee as below it. Does anyone know what this could be or what I should do?

Does anyone know where to buy those Canadian acetiminophen that have codeine in them? I know they are sold over the counter in Canada, and you are allowed to bring back 100 pills per person to the USA. I have chronic pain, from a disease in my back and I find a great deal of relief from them. I am in terrible pain, and I cannot get to Canada to purchase any. Does anyone know where you can buy them online and have them shipped to the states? What are they called, or referred to in Canada, because I have had no luck with my searches so far. Please help!!!

Whats a good sleep aide? Lunesta, Ambien? It seems when i use these I need to sleep through it completely not to feel tired when I get up. My sleep pattern has been disturbed, and now if I dont use a sleep aide I dont fall asleep.

It only comes in the morning...i mean, when i get up in the mornings, i feel reely uncomfortable around the neck & shoulders......I figured it was becuse of too much exercise, but i've cut out vigourous workouts for a month now......but i still have the same problem............. is there something wrong with my bones, or is the problem with my bed or pillow??

It hurts very bad...like somebody is squeezing my bottom teeth together...i got 2 bridges done on both sides...i have been takin advil for about 8 days now and the pain hasnt got any better...is there any suggestions to why it could be hurting this long and what can i do...thanks so much for the help

I am 23 years old and I never have enough energy. I always feel tired. I get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. I even go to gym three days a week but I still have no energy. Is there anything else I can do so I don't feel so tired?

My whole family suffers due to my Chronic Pain Syndrome, it's been nearly 6 years now, I am on sooo much medication I rattle when I walk, I feel like I'm going mad from the constant pain, I have basicly become a hermit, I have gained so much weight from the medications, and also from not moving around very much, that I have developed Type 2 diabetes, I get chest pains & am classed as being morbidly obese, before the accident my weight never passed 64kg, and that was when I was pregnant, I hate how I look, I can't control the pain, I live by a pain scale, 0 = no pain at all 10 = the worst pain possible, on a good day I'm around a 6 - 7. I feel like my life is over, I've seen psychologists, with out much sucsess, if anyone has any constructive ideas, I would be soooo very thankfull, that's about it for now, take care, Yvete

like it looked pretty bad, my mom kept saying i needed stitches but i didn't want to, and i was right that i didn't after we went to ER a couple days later. a few times i became REALLY tired and started to sweat a LOT. i could barely breathe, so i asked to go to the nurse, when i got up i felt all dizzy and sluggish and my eyesight turned weird..or something, everything i saw were like those little color dots in TV static for like 5 minutes and i went to the nurse and rested for a bit and i felt a lot better. luckily i didnt faint.

i have a sist on the back of my brain causeing me to have a shunt(a tube that goes from my brain to my stomic)i had my first at 4 months old and then a replacement at 16.after meany follow up appointments i had asked my doc.if it was ok to get one.his answer was of course no.i think because he just didn't like them)i am now 33 and i haven't used the shunt in many years.it was replaced at 16 as a precaution so there has been no reason for any doctor appointment.i was wondering sence so much time has past if it would be safe it get one.

I quit drinking many times Now when I stop I get depressed after being off the drink a few days?
I call it My climb down I can stop drinking for a few day then on the third day or so I get very depressed to the point where I cant work. I can go home and have a few beers fall asleep and be ok the next day not liking myself for drinking but I am not depressed. but in the next few day Bingo I need to get drunk to get rid of the Depression. It seems like its getting worse. I am a 52 year old man . Help

I scalded my tongue today and it really hurts. Chewing gum definitely makes it worse, and drinking cold water only makes it marginally better while it's in my mouth. Any ideas of how to make it stop hurting?

I stopped smoking two weeks ago, but I have gained 7 pounds. Right now I am 5'2" and weigh 189. This puts my BMI at 34.6 (Obese) I am only 30 pounds away from being morbidly obese. I keep debating this with myself, which is really worse? Smoking basically causes cancer and maybe an elevated blood pressure. But being overweight cause Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and I am sure a few more thing then just smoking does. So, which do you think it worse? Why?

Ok, so I just broke my wrist last weekend when I was snowboarding and now I have a bright pink cast that goes half-way up my arm to my elbow. Do you personally find casts to be a turn off??? Or, do you think its hard to dance with some one in a cast, even though its just on one arm?
