I went to webmd and there's nothing there about treating sciatic nerve pain with depo-medrol. It was 1cc injected IM (my hip). What can I expect as a result of this shot? Am I going to gain weight? Can I still take my Prozac in conjunction with (I forgot to tell my doctor that my gyn has me on Sarafem)?
Thanks for your kind and informative responses.

Not only my car, but whenever I get out of any car, when I go to close the door, I have to touch the frame with my forearm to avoid the shock to my hand.. It used to be kind of humerous, but now it is really frustrating... Any ideas?

My 10 yr. old son often gets pain in the back of his neck whenever he gets a sore throat. It's not meningitis because the pain isn't that severe. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I can never get 8 hours sleep at a time. The majority of time, I only sleep for 2 or 3 hours straight, then I'm awake for a couple of hours or so, then back to sleep again. I've tried taking Tylenol P.M.'s, only to get the same result. I don't drink alcohol, so please don't suggest having a drink before my first bedtime. I don't know why I can't sleep well. I was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and what you do about it.

I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident 1 1/2 years ago that has left me in chronic pain. My neck was broken in 3 spots, back broken in 2 spots, left shoulder fractured, left knee and left foot were shattered. I've tried just about everything and the only thing that seemed to help were the harsher narcotics, which the docs are reluctant to keep giving because of tolerance and dependancy issues.

A friend of mine suggested marijuana and I've done some research, but am a little leary. Right now I'm ready to try anything for relief, but prefer not to have to resort to buying stuff off the street. And I don't want to drink booze to make me feel better, either. Tried it but nearly ended up going to AA meetings.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, and please don't tell me how lucky I am just to be alive after those injuries. Sometimes I wish I hadn't survived just because of the pain.

I run 5 miles a few times a week, and approximately half of the time I get a REALLY bad headache about four or five hours after running. It sort of feels like a sinus headache, but seems to start in the middle of my upper back and travel up to my sinuses. Sometimes the headache lasts for a couple of days. I can't figure out why I get it sometimes and don't get it other times. Any suggestions? I love to run and don't want to give up my favorite exercise. Thanks for your input!

I have been experiencing lower back pain for about a week or so now, but it only happens in the morning, starts at around 530 and stops when I get up, I though it could be the mattress so Ive tried sleeping on the couch and floor, but none had any effect its still there. I doesnt hurt at all during the day or when I first go to bed. I exercise three times a week, walk about a mile and a half nightly with my dog, I eat right, have good posture and height to weight ratio, what could be causing this?

My lower back has been hurting for the past 8 months. I started going to a chiro thinking it was because of our mattress. Well the pain kept getting worse and I was bearly even able to walk. I finally went to the doctor. He told me I have a herniated disk. He said it was small so he wanted to treat it with physical therapy first. Are there any other options aside from surgery I mean?

We were playing football inside in gym class. I fell and landed on my ankle and foot. I feel fine except for the one part of my foot feels tender if I try and stand on it. The nurse put my on these old crutches that keep falling apart on me (arrggg) anyway. She said if the pain gets any worse I should go home. I really don't want to.. what should I do?

She woke up around midnight. She was crying and had a fever around 101. She slept with us for the rest of the night, but woke up every 30 minutes - sometimes 1 hour (normally she sleeps okay when she sleeps with us). She moaned and whined all night. I have given her 2 doses of tylenol (12:00 and 5:00). I called in so that I could stay home with her, but now she seems fine. Also, she complained with a headache early afternoon yesterday. She is a twin, was born premature, has asthma (mild), has had bronchitis and pneumonia numerous times due to premature lung disease. Any ideas what is going on?

morning walker is a useful substitute to monring walk, says indian medical association. it is an aerobic exerciser designed on the principle of a goldfish movement. by using morning walker for 15 minutes is equal to 10000 steps of birsk walk and 8 kms in terms of oxygen benefit. you just have to plug in your morning walker, set the timer and place your ankles on the grooved footrest. then just lie back and relax while morning walker takes over! The proven swinging technique of morning walker activates nerve impulse stimulation.

i've noticed that i have the chest pain mostly when i have the emotional stress... not physical stress. i've had 2 different stress tests at the dr, but it shows nothing physcially wrong with my heart. none of my ekg's or stress tests have been when i'm actually having the chest pain. i've tried muscle relaxants thinking it could be muscle spasms . they didn't help at all. can a persons heart do "funny" things from emotional stress that a physical stress test won't pick up if i'm not having the chest pain right then?
