I have very paiful tension in my shoulder baldes and neck which leads me to have daily headaches. I sit at a desk for most of the day and im guessing its to do with posture.
Can anyone recommend a good massage to help prevent headaches and muscle tension.??

I have a very bad cold, I'm coughing so hard that I cracked several of my ribs. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas for pain relief. Pain med don't seem to help a whole lot.
I normaly lay in an epsim salt bath when this happens, but my new place doesn't have a bath tub to do that.
Any suggestions please?

I'm addicted to pain meds. I'm trying to get myself off of them. I take 7 10mg lortabs at a time. I have some fentanyl that I want to use to try to taper off of the drugs, but I'm not sure how to use them. They're 25mcg each. I'm not exactly how much to take. I know you can OD off the stuff, but I don't want to go through withdrawls (been there before, it aint pretty) Has anyone used them before...recreationally? or for withdrawl symptoms? any past experience or advice would be helpful. thanks.

I was in horrific pain when she sent me home with motrin. i could not nurse, move, thus, my healing took extra long. i called her over and over crying, and she only gave me enough for one day. she said that she had her own reasons for not giving pain meds but was never clear on what they were. i was in the navy, no drug problems, everything was fine. so why couldnt she give me anything better than that. i have no good memories like anyone else of coming home and spending time with my family because the pain was so bad i could hardly stop crying or being bitchy. is it illegal not to treat pain like this, and what can i do?

My husband told me he has a knot on his inner elbow. He said it has been there probably 7-10 years. He said it started out hard like a little b.b. or pebble. He noticed today that it has gotten a little bigger and soft around it. He said if he messes with it, it gets tender. He said he has had an elbow injury in the past. We are making him a doctors appointment to get it checked but I am worried. Does anyone know what it sounds like???

I have been having these shooting pains up my left leg. They also go up into the hip and into my back. I've been having these pains for about 4 months now. Someone said it could be the sciatic(sp?) nerve being pinched. Any other opinions? And what measures would I have to take to check on it? I am uninsured so I really dont have that many options if they're major tests.

I'm 16 and a dancer. I've been dancing for 8 years and want to be a professional. In november of '06,I started noticing that my knees would ache when I bend them. after a show in december, it was so bad that It hurt to walk. I dont want to ignore it anymore, becuz if I do, there goes my career, and it can affect my ability to walk as I get older. I don't want it to get any worse, so what should I do?
I was gonna talk to my doctor, but does anyone know any easier, home remedies I could use or something?

I am in my 40's. 5 years ago I had to endure a Total Knee Replacement. Several years ago I was hit by a car and it impacted my knee leading slowly to the first TKR breaking apart. I have another TKR surgery scheduled in 3 weeks, I am in so much pain I can't tolerate it. My DR understands this. We have bought me a walker. The problem: He prescribed 60 pain (Lortab) pills (I can't take anit-inflamatories, aspirn, aleve, etc this close to surgery). Directions to be taken every 4 hours as needed. I did. I needed them. I'm not a pill popper, I am in good health. But I just had to take them constantly due to the severity of the pain, and now I am almost out of them. The pain is intorlerable. Should I ask for another refill so soon because I am almost out or will he get mad? I don't know what to do without them. I'm seriously in pain. He has been my DR for 5 years. Thanks.

When sedated with a general will a tube be put down my throat?
Are you catherized?
Do they shave your leg or do you do it prior to checking in?

I know there are tons of questions like this asked on here, but they're all for several weeks/months after they got it done..

I dont know if a few days after its supposed to be red and still tender or not.

they gave me "bacitracin" and ive been using that 2-3 times a day and today i put some peroxide on it and it fizzed a lot..

I dont know how sore its supposed to be if i got it [sat] and today is [mon]

or if maybe im just wimpy and i think it hurts.
its not like omg im dying or anything but when i walk fast, jerk or slide it/rotate it, it hurts a little..

i expect it should still be sore only two days after and still a little red, i mean its scabbing over, well not scabbing but like its not bleeding or oozing pus all over or anything so i assume the hole is healing nicely...

[i dont know if this matters, but i went to a place where they used the hollow needle to take out the skin and meat, rather than just poking a hole with a needle]

I have migraines. They make me vomit, that "aura" of lights in my left eye, can't stand noise/smells/light. Have tried the strong pain meds but doctors are so reluctant to prescribe them. I have a really bad one about once per 3 or 4 weeks. Regular meds for migraines such as Imitrex, Maxalt, Axert, Midrin, Frova, Depakote, Inderal, Darvon, Darvocet, etc will work for maybe 1/2 hour but then it's back to this crushing pain. I've had MRI's, CAT's, tests ..........all of them but they find nothing wrong and say I just have a migraine problem.

One thing that does help is to stand in a very hot shower with the water spray over the left eye where the pain is located. It helps for about 20 minutes but obviously I can't stand in the shower all day.
