If this is your first surgery I can understand your fears. Realize you are doing something positive for your body . Without the surgery you are going to be in incredible misery for the rest of your life. When you look at it that way it makes it easier to face the surgery.

I suggest you talk with your doctor about your fears before the surgery. Make sure you ask what medications you will be given afterwards to stop the pain. Ask what you have to do for recovery after the surgery. Ask how long you have to stay off of your feet . Once you have answers I think you will feel more relaxed.

Best wishes

Well, that's a tough one...I would try thing about what is good about getting it not what's bad. I've never had surgery but I would think about what's good. I say that you should tell other people about how scraed you are...people who are close to you or your friends. They should help like alot of people here.

Scared of what? Being put to sleep? I don't like going to sleep either, but we are talking about bunions here.

I had my wisdom teeth cut out and I was wide awake.

just tell yourself you will be fine and nothing will happen
everything will be fine and back to normal afterwards

try bringing a friend with you, along with family
first thing you see= bf/gf or one of your closest friends
and maybe a teddy bear or your beloved stuffed animal/toy
