The cat bite may have given you an ordinary infection, but it could be more serious. There is an infection called "cat scratch fever" or "cat scratch disease" (Bartonellosis) which can last for months. I wouldn't go to the ER, but I would go get it checked out by the dr. You may need a round of antibiotics.

i hope you have gone to the doctor, i have the same thing and i have just taken my first clamoxyl duo anti. I waited nearly 48 hours before i went to the doctor and i am am now in so much pain(i wish i had gone sooner!), i know the type of pain you are having! you can feel the pain from under your skin and it goes up and down your arm in sharp waves, i only got 3 tiny punctures near my wrist but my whole arm fron wrist to upper arm is aching with a hot cramping pain. its a bad pain because it doesn't stop!!! the symptoms sound very alike so you are probably very infected as well Hopefully you went and are all sorted. My doctor put the arm in a very high sling to try and get it above the heart ( i found that this was hard to keep there and i was getting cold pins and needles as well as pain) she also said put it up on pillows when you sleep , it does help with the pain. a 10 day course of an amoxycillin/clavulanate duo antibiotic seems to be the common treatment. i never knew cat bites could get so nasty!

If the cat was hurt when , it bit you, they put off a substance at that time , through the salava glands, they causing a severe infection, since it is hot, and probably swelling, if you have any red streaks coming out from the bite. Then don`t wait to go tomorrow, go now. This can turn into a serious thing.

The sooner you treat this the better your recovery will be. It's obviously infected. You could either have a Staph. aureus infection which can be complicated to treat and, in rare cases, fatal or you could have Pastuerella multocida which is often a result of animal bites. In either case you need to be on antibiotics ASAP!!! The longer you wait, the stronger and more virulent the infection will become. If it's Staph you may be getting "Staph streaks" which will be red lines coming from the wound and going up your arm.
Rabies is, of course, another possibility.
Best Wishes!

I too was bitten by a cat 4 weeks ago, and after 2 days my arm was painful and red around the bite wounds. Even though I was using Neosporen and keeping it clean it wasn't getting better, so I ended up going to the emergency room to have it looked at. The doctor put me on a 10day Amoxicillan regimen to help with the infection. He said cat bites are difficult to treat by yourself because they are so deep, and cats have "dirty" mouths. I STRONGLY recommend that you go to a doctor or emergency room before it gets worse. Good Luck!

Get thou to an emergency room immediately. Cat bites are some of the worst bites around and can seriously infect to the point that amputation could be necessary. You may be able to be treated with IV antibiotics, but don't wait any longer! Don't mean to scare you, but this is a SERIOUS incident!

You arent exaggerating are you?
If you feel pain in your bone.
Go see a local doc first thing in the morning.
Its not neccessary to go ER...
ER are for accidents and more important stuffs.

if you have had sex within the last two months then you could be pregnant, however you could also have gas ( sucks but it can hurt like hell) or you may be "popping an egg" in which case you should start your period soon (within a week.) however if pain persists then go to your doctor, they will know more than you or me.

You sure it wasn't a zombie? j/k
Go to a hospital. It might be nothing but it's better to have it checked out than risk an infection.
