I'm addicted to pain meds. I'm trying to get myself off of them. I take 7 10mg lortabs at a time. I have some fentanyl that I want to use to try to taper off of the drugs, but I'm not sure how to use them. They're 25mcg each. I'm not exactly how much to take. I know you can OD off the stuff, but I don't want to go through withdrawls (been there before, it aint pretty) Has anyone used them before...recreationally? or for withdrawl symptoms? any past experience or advice would be helpful. thanks.

Wow, this is an unfortunate situation. I urge you to speak with your medical doctor about this As they are the most qualified to answer your question. I'm sure you're afraid to talk to your medical doctor. If you are not I would speak to the doctor about how to use the Fentanyls.

Start tapering off the loratabs by cutting back one tablet every two days. Do not start the fentanyl until you are down to two loratabs at a time. Fentanyls are extensively used for anesthesia and analgesia, most often in the operating room and intensive care unit. This is a very powerful drug.
Here is what I suggest to get you over the worst part of the withdrawals.

The following treatment will help you not go through such agony as you withdraw from the medication.

To help with the withdrawals take hot bathes with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. The skin is the biggest organ of elimination and this will help pull out the drugs. Use a loofa to clean the pores and this will help pull the drugs out even faster.

Drink lots of water and 2c. a day of fresh carrot juice, to flush the medicine out of your liver. You can take 500mg of calcium and magnesium twice a day to help you relax. Drink chamomile tea throughout the day and evening to help you stay relaxed.

Use a powdered fiber supplement twice daily to pull the drugs out of your intestines where they can store.

Two of the questionnaires in this forum did follow this program to withdraw from drugs and it did help. I've enclosed a link where you can read their response to this program.

I would suggest that you not try to detox by yourself. With drawls can be very pain full and we often find that with the help- of others who have been through what we are trying to get through life becomes easier. There are many places that are well equipped to handle your dilemma. There is no shame in asking for help. Please call someone that deals with your situation everyday. I've been there also and found it impossible to kick on my own. Just remember there is hope and that there are other addicts who have been where you are now.
