After three, 2 hour, sessions of spring soccer conditioning, my thigh muscles have been in severe pain. I know for a fact that I have not pulled or stretched a muscle. But yet I have rested for three days and I cannot bend my knees without sever pain. What could this be? I have not run in nearly three months, so could it be a build up of lactic acid? Should I try to run and stretch it out, or rest it until it feels better?

my dr prescribed it for my excruciating back aches. my whole back is tight & knotted, have been getting massages, but can only afford so many. maybe i pulled a muscle, but it is my whole back not just one particular area, so he gave me naproxen (anti-inflammatory) while is basically a prescribed aleve. it's not working yet, but it has only been 1 day...i think he's afraid to prescribe a pain med

During the last couple of weeks I have had about 3 severe heartburn episodes, my symptoms are, the pain starts below the rib cage then spreads right over my chest, it is so painful that I double up ,it also makes my jaw and teeth ache, I have a high pain threshold but this last one actually made me cry, it was an intense dull ache, what do you think?? I took 6 antacid pills and it went away it usually lasts about 5/8 mins. Thanks so much for your help.

I've been having a headache on and off for about 3 days, the pain is usually on the left side of my head and sometimes goes into my neck/shoulder, and can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, but it is usually pretty painful to me. Anyone have an idea what this is? Also I just got done with my mid terms last week and was extremely nervous for a few, does this have anything to do with it?

I had hernia surgery to my stomach two weeks ago. The incision is approximately 10 in long.

The area along the incision line is itching terribly and is driving me crazy. No sutures or staples were used, only medical glue. I know the itching is due to the healing process but is their anything else I can put on or around the area to stop the itching. (Out of calamine lotion, didn't know if I could use that anyhow) but will take any ideas.

I'm looking for a device that is similar to a walker, with a sling type thing for your knee to keep weight off the ankle. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, if there is a correct term for it and where (website) I can find one? My mom recently broke her ankle and has to stay off for 6 weeks. The wheel chair is cumbersome and she's having a hard time with crutches. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks so much!

I live in Ontario Canada. I was sitting in my living room three days ago (Thursday) and felt something crawl up my hand. I had my hand underneath a laptray working on my laptop pc. Before I got my hand out from under the tray something stung me (thumb). I thought it was a bee (it is winter here). A luggage bag had been brought up from the basement earlier in the day. It was so painful and sharp I was sure it was a hornet of some kind. I could not find one. We took the couch apart...lifted it up...vacummed the entire thing...swept the hardwood and the curtains and never found the supposed 'bee' culprit. I had a dot looking like a bee sting, surrounded by a white elevated ring, surrounded by redness. This subsided by the next day...completely. Then Sat night the area became hot and red and looked as if I was just bitten or stung again. The white edges are now gone(Monday) but the dot came up to a blister and opened. It is still has erythema around it and a hard area around it.

First, if you don't know which muscle this is, please see here....

It does not hurt when I walk a smaller stride than usual, but to try and sit down and "rotate" my leg/thigh is very painful. I think I may have torn it, but ain't shelling out $1000 for an MRI just for them to tell me to put some heat or something on it.

If you've had muscle injuries, what have you done for them?

I had an eye lift due to health reasons. My ins. paid for it all. My skin has wrinkles between the nose & eyes & a large scar that looks bad to me & very noticeable on my right eye. I asked the optomologist to do the surgery over, and he says I think it looks good. Can someone tell me where I can get this done over by a cosmetic surgeon that lets you pay monthly. I am in SC. My ins. won't pay twice for this surgery.

I have had a terrible migrane/neck pain but I'm unsure of the cause. It has gone on for about a week now, and it starts in my shoulder/neck area and along the sides of my head. I have a few sinus issues (anosmia or stuffy nose, perhaps), and sleep funny occasionally so I wake up with shoulder pains. But would that be enough to cause a migrane-type headache? Also, I seem to have a few current issues that make me feel an overwhelming amount of guilt. I work at home most days, am indoors a great deal, and at the computer for several hours...Any ideas as to what this could be? (I know that is not much info, but anything would be helpful at this point..)

I have three ruptured discs and severe disc degeneration in L-4 to S-1. I have done months of therapy, esi's (epidural steriod injections), completely changed my lifestyle and yet I still have constant pain. Now, most of the time, my pain is relieved by Darvocet or Lorcet which I take once a day, maybe 3-4 times a week. Not much at all. However, there are the days where Im really having trouble and five Lorcets wouldn't put a dent in the pain! These are the days Im forced to lay in bed, in excrutiating pain. I want to explain to my doc that the meds he prescribed me, while on mild days, are fine, but on bad days, don't help in the slightest. But with all the drug addicts these days looking for a stronger pill, I dont want him to think Im one of them. I mean, a 30 day supply would last me three to four months easily, so I don't think that there should be a problem, but I don't know how to approach it. Truly, I think my husband is about to handle it. He's so tired of seeing me in pain!

I've had it for quite some time now i've never brough attention to it because it's painless. it's like a bone sticking out... i'm always tired but that's probably because of the lack of sleep.. i'm curious as to what it could be and if it's serious or not.. thanks.

Hello.

Four days ago, my husband and I were moving some furniture (really heavy pieces) and because my husband already has a serious back problem (Cauda Equina syndrome) I took on the brunt of the grunt work. Now I am hurt really, really really bad. The pain is in my lower back just above my waist and it radiates down to my rear and just short of my thigh. The pain is constant and sharp. The portion just above the waist is incredibly painful even to the touch and if I stand or sit a certain way, it gets worse, like someone is stabbing me with an electric dagger.

I've tried: motrin, tylenol and a few of my husband's muscle relaxers (meloxicam) and no releif. Hot/cold packs help momentarily only. I can't even sleep unless I am propped up in a contorted sitting position with pillows. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I am very afraid I have permanently messed up my back.

What can I do? What can I expect the doctor to do to help me? Can I get Xrays done about this?
