Things you can do might be count 1-100 or more until you fall asleep. You might also want to listen to relaxing music to fall asleep. You should buy to radio that have sleep mode that way it will turn off by itself. I try it before

I read an article aout this on yahoo the other day. It said somethings to eat before you get ready to go to bed were bananas, turkey on whole grain bread, oatmeal with a little honey, and it gave some other things but I can't remember. I looked for the article but could not find it. Also having sex always makes me sleepy.

FOODS

warm milk
honey
turkey
potatos
room temperature water
tangerine

Don't eat or drink anything within 3 hours of your sleep because your digestive system will keep working and you will develop to many adrenal hormones

SLEEP HYGIENE

Sleep hygiene is the practice of following simple guidelines to ensure restful, effective sleep promoting daytime alertness and helping avoid the onset of sleep disorders. Trouble sleeping and daytime sleepiness can be indications of poor sleep hygiene.

Some measures of sleep hygiene include:

* Going to bed and getting up at the same time each day.

* Establishing a regular bedtime routine.

* Using relaxation techniques (or meditation) shortly before sleep. Allow at least 1 hour to unwind before bedtime.

* Restricting sleep to just the bedroom.

* Avoiding large meals within one hour of sleep.

* Regular, vigorous, daily exercise, preferably in the morning.

* Getting adequate exposure to natural daylight every day.

* Avoiding exercise less than 1 hour before going to sleep.

* Avoiding, if possible, napping during the day (unless utilizing Polyphasic Sleep).

* Keeping the bedroom at a comfortable temperature. It is better for the bedroom to be slightly cooler—losing body heat has been shown to help the onset of slow wave (deep) sleep.

* Keeping the bedroom as dark as possible.

* Avoiding stimulants of any kind within one hour of retiring, e.g., caffeine or alcohol (which in smaller doses can act as a stimulant), except at the direction of a physician. People who are sensitive to stimulants, or who consume them in quantity, may need to extend this restriction to six or more hours before they attempt to sleep.

* Keep your bedroom peaceful and comfortable. Make sure your room is well ventilated and the temperature consistent. And try to keep it quiet. You could use a fan or a white noise machine to help block outside noises. The fan should be left at the lowest clearly audible level, as a loud fan would be counter productive.

Something that relaxes you and stops you from actually thinking about going to sleep. Put on some headphones and listen to relaxing music, or put on a movie for a few minutes. This is actually what I started doing lately and I sleep alot better. In my experience, whenever something important is on your mind, you tend to think about it when you lay down and its tough to get to sleep.

Blondie,

Is your mind racing, or are you just laying there? Sometimes a healthy lifestyle is connected to full night sleep. If u are healthy try reading dull books...tv is too stimulating unless you find a boring show...but if you are interested in more healthy insights email me. My screen name is with yahoo.
