I'm looking for a device that is similar to a walker, with a sling type thing for your knee to keep weight off the ankle. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, if there is a correct term for it and where (website) I can find one? My mom recently broke her ankle and has to stay off for 6 weeks. The wheel chair is cumbersome and she's having a hard time with crutches. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks so much!

Here's an example of one:

The Roll-A-Bout walker is a new medical device designed for everyone who has an injury below the knee. The injury could be a broken lower leg, ankle, or foot; an achilles tendon injury; amputation; or ulcers of the foot or leg. Replacing crutches, the Roll-A-Bout is designed for convenience as well as comfort and stability and folds easily for transporting and storage.

im not exactly sure what you are talking about but it sounds like it would be more of a hassle...i had ankle surgery about a year ago and i had to stay off of it for a month or so...i used crutches but i know what you say when they make things hard so i started using a wheel chair half the time...just make your arms sore too...the only thing that I would suggest would be to spruce up the wheel chair...put some pads on it to make the arm rests and seat more comfortable...it might help a little...sorry i couldnt help more.
