She woke up around midnight. She was crying and had a fever around 101. She slept with us for the rest of the night, but woke up every 30 minutes - sometimes 1 hour (normally she sleeps okay when she sleeps with us). She moaned and whined all night. I have given her 2 doses of tylenol (12:00 and 5:00). I called in so that I could stay home with her, but now she seems fine. Also, she complained with a headache early afternoon yesterday. She is a twin, was born premature, has asthma (mild), has had bronchitis and pneumonia numerous times due to premature lung disease. Any ideas what is going on?

As a mother of 2, I can honestly say that sometimes they have had a fever and we never knew the cause of it. A fever generally is the body's natural way of trying to get rid of an infection. Maybe nature took its course and it did exactly what it was trying to do. On the other side, it may come back tonight or later on, so keep a close eye on that fever (as I am sure that you are, you sound like a mom that is in tune with her child)

I remember my kids would often run fevers, and wake up fine. What I've then heard is, that it's common for them to spike a fever late afternoon (after the doctor's office is closed) and run lowest in the morning. I would 'wait it out' only to have them spike again. So, no one knows their kids better than mom or dad, bring her in if you think she needs to go. Ear infection? Have a friend who's baby was just daignosed with RSV. Good luck>

It sounds viral to me, but with her history, I'd call her pediatrician and let him know what transpired just to be on the safe side. He may want to take a look at her, or just have you watch her. Good luck.

She could be teething...that can cause fever and cold-like symptoms. Check her gums. If you are really concerned call the doc.

Well, kids always have fevers that come and go. It often looks intense, but it goes away quickly.

If you're concerned, call your doctor.
