My whole family suffers due to my Chronic Pain Syndrome, it's been nearly 6 years now, I am on sooo much medication I rattle when I walk, I feel like I'm going mad from the constant pain, I have basicly become a hermit, I have gained so much weight from the medications, and also from not moving around very much, that I have developed Type 2 diabetes, I get chest pains & am classed as being morbidly obese, before the accident my weight never passed 64kg, and that was when I was pregnant, I hate how I look, I can't control the pain, I live by a pain scale, 0 = no pain at all 10 = the worst pain possible, on a good day I'm around a 6 - 7. I feel like my life is over, I've seen psychologists, with out much sucsess, if anyone has any constructive ideas, I would be soooo very thankfull, that's about it for now, take care, Yvete

I know how you feel. I live with bad pain and like you it is unbearable. I find the isolation the worst nobody understands. Or they tell you to do x and just do it and they think that they know what pain is.

Fortunately I now have support and I now like to help others

I have had major surgery and you can cope because you know that it will go away. But when you are in that much pain daily it is very difficult to deal with. I have found some things that work over the years and some that did not but were helpful to my friend.

But will take time to explain so if you want email me through this site (yahoo answers) feel free to do so

And hang in there

I have chronic pelvic congestion. Do you see an interventional pain management specialist? If not, I would recommend finding one or getting a referral from your family doc. Pain management docto0rs genuinely care about your pain levels, they want to help. I have gone from a daily pain level of 8-9 to 1 at most since starting pain management. I'm only 25, and I suffered for 5 years before I finally found a dcotor who cared enough to get to the root of the problem, and when he did he discovered that my condition is not curable and referred me to pain management. I am finally getting the relief I need. Before, I could not get out of bed, couldn't work, couldn't have sex with my husband, couldn't go out and have fun, couldn't really ddo anything due to my pain. Now I have a new lease on life and am doing all the things I've missed out on for so long. If you need to talk, feel free to e-mail me.

my hubby suffers from chronic pain. movement is essential but I understand how difficult but it is necessary. you need to help your liver cope with all the toxins you take (like him) to deal with the pain. be sure you are not being over medicated though as we have found the docs just keep adding meds.

we have recently (1 month) started on a regime of eating healthy, and are taking natural stuff to help the liver and cleanse the intestines.
this seems to be helping with the pain and psychological depression from being constantly in pain.

I don't think psychs will help you much. I would try regular therapeutic massage to help you lymph glands with elimination.

I wish you the best with coping with this chronic pain syndrome

I'n giving you some links, just for information. Chronic pain syndrome, however, is an extremely difficult problem to deal with.
