I'm a football player and i know what you need. I personal use the icy-hot chill stick , thing works wonders just roll it on and your good and its like deodorant so you can take it anywhere. TAKE A COLD SHOWER TO also take your vitamins and eat protein rich foods after a work out to replace the muscle you lost in the workout. Don't do the same workouts everyday. I do lower body Mondays and Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays are cardio. THAT IS HOW YOU GAIN MUSCLE it also helps by not stressing your muscles everyday cause if you do the same muscles everyday you dont gain muscle as fast. THAT is how you can avoid soreness. I SHOULD KNOW IVE GOTTEN 10 TIMES STRONGER and HAVENT GOTTAN SORE ONCE

Use a warm 'rice' bag or a moistened and heated washcloth. Then, give a kneading massage to the affected area while using muscle rub. make sure to strech before and after, and don't stop the workout abrubtly!

i agree with the first person; but take an anti-inflammatory like motrin or ibuprofen and keep the muscles and joints moving; you don't want them to stiffen up; 15 minutes of heat and 15 minutes of ice; heat to loosen the muscle and joints up; and ice to reduce any swelling; hope you feel better!
